Curcuprime for ankylosing spondylitis log

Hey all, I will be doing a log for roughly a month I am hoping. I bought xpg curcuprime gel a bit ago and will be applying it to my spine every day. For those who don't know ankylosing spondylitis is an autoimmune disease which affects the spine, it causes me a lot of pain and I often can't play rugby because of it, nsaids don't work well so I think curcuprime is worth a shot. I have been applying 2 pumps a day to my low back and glute area and will be doing a log to track how well curcuprime works for my pain and inflammation. I hope this can help others who have autoimmune or inflammation problems.

Day 1 (yesterday):
I applied 2 pumps to my lower back and rubbed it in with the back of my wrist. Didn't notice anything but that may be just because it was my first day starting it up. The gel dries quick and doesn't stain my clothes.

Day 2: I definitely got less spine pain today, though I don't know if that's from the curcuprime. I'd have to take it longer to know for sure. I could even sneak in a leg day today without much pain.

Looking forward to following along and seeing how it works for you,

Day 3: did 2 pumps after the shower on my low back and glute area. Definitely getting less pain yesterday and today but i'd have to take it for atleast 1 or 2 more weeks to tell if thats from the curcuprime. I was lying down on my couch today for an hour reading and I realized I didn't have any spine pain for an entire hour which was unusual, I hope thats the curcuprime working its magic.

On an unrelated note I just came back from the gym, my buddy just hit 315 on bench and I hit 80s on incline db for 11.

Day 4: did 2 pumps again today, got slightly more pain today than yesterday but still less than last week, I think the curcuprime is still working. I even did a jog today which is a huge step for me.

Happy family day! Just applied 2 pumps and im gonna try squatting again for the first time in 3 weeks in a bit. I'll update later at the end of the day.

I don't have AS, but I do have psoriatic arthritis that has messed with my lower back at times...

Out of curiosity, have you tried switching up to different squat variants? During a period of lower back pain I had started doing kettlebell goblet squats, holding the weight up by my chest. Obviously can't go anywhere near as heavy as a barbell, but back was happy to not have a bar on it haha. Have kept it in my routine since.

Yep, I differ my training heavily, I haven't squatted much on regular back squats to full depth since it aggrevates my spine. I usually stick to box squats and front squats. I took it a little light earlier since I want to test myself and how well the curcuprime works so I just did 2 sets of 155lb front squats and one set of 205 back squats, hopefully I can get those numbers up to what they used to be before I got AS.

Day 5: Did 2 pumps today, got minimal pain throughout the day, even squatted which is huge for me. After squatting I got minimal pain which is a great sign, but often with AS you don't get pain when your moving a lot so it could be that. I'm honestly pretty impressed, I still have pain but its more manageable. If I wake up tmrw after resting and have little to no pain then the curcuprime is doing its thing.

Day 6: did 2 pumps in the morning. Earlier in the day I was feeling good. Today we had our first rugby practice in over a month since they all got canceled because of snow. It was a rough practice, had quite a lot of pain. Next practice what I'll do is apply curcuprime in the morning and then 2 more pumps before I go to practice.

You could try it that way, and could also maybe try 1 pump before and 1 pump shortly after practice.

It's great to hear that its helping you. As you know, nothing is going to help rugby be pain free, heck, rugby isn't pain free for people that don't have any issues, but its great to hear that its helping you squat and be able to do rugby with less pain that you would likely have otherwise.

I look forward to hearing more updates.

I tried doing 2 pumps on my hip flexors and the side of my hip instead of my low back today since thats where I get a lot of pain and those are the muscles that are affected by my AS.

Day 9: I forgot day 8 sorry. 2 pumps again today.

I was gonna squat today but I tweaked my teres major a few days ago and its been a pain in the ass. I did a few warm up sets and just decided not to squat today because my back was hurting. But otherwise I only got pain today when I did side planks which do aggrevate my AS.

I haven't forgotten about this log, the recent posts have been lacking since I strained a muscle in my back and haven't been able to train so I haven't been able to judge how well curcuprime is helping a lot, I have still been applying it and not getting pain but that could be because I haven't been exercising heavy or doing anything that could aggrevate it. I'll keep applying it and keeping you guys updated but I'm taking a week off the gym to focus on physio and rehab, after that I'll start training heavy again and keep the log more detailed.

I know I have been absent. My doctor has been putting in the process to get biologics and I had / have to get inflammatory bloodwork, chest xrays, vaccinations, and fill out a bunch of quality of life forms. So I stopped taking curcuprime and anything anti inflammatory since it may affect my bloodwork. A few other things have been going on in my life aswell. I will restart this log when I think it is a good time. Overall the product has been working well but I know it won't be able to fully get my life back which is why I am going on biologics. Curcuprime should make a great addition though if I do get a flare up. Thanks to Steve for making such a great product, if anyone reading this has any inflammatory diseases or injuries I highly recommend curcuprime. If biologics make me pain free I may start another log using curcuprime for my rotator cuff injury and just leave this one.
