Critiques and suggestions for my own natural test cocktail.

I've done tons of reading on boosting natural test production. I'm 42 and I had a test count like in 300's. I'm not wanting TRT yet but I want to boost naturally. Anyways I've been eating more fat, reducing carbs, I'm taking zinc, magnesium, and Vitamin D3. Any other safe products that help with free test but no shutdown?

I think CEL M-Test might be what you would like. As long as you have an understanding of what natural test boosters will do and what they can't do, I think you would like M-Test. I am 37, and the mood boost, extra confidence, the ridiculous libido increase all make for an awesome experience. I JUST started another run yesterday.

Research shows boron, ashwaganda, forskolin are all good and don't have to be cycled.

Shilajit and long jack seem possibly beneficial too. I've not read enough on them though.

Fenugreek is on my "no" list. Only evidence it "increases" test is by reducing DHT. That's not ideal unless you're blood tests shows above range DHT.

Also, sleep is huge for healthy hormones. That and good diet trump all supplements.

I agree with the above...Avoid anything with stinging nettle/divanil, another dht blocker.

To be fair, an argument might be made for full spectrum Nettle (maybe, it did nothing in actual people as far as sex hormones go) - but for isolated 3,4 Div, it supposedly (in vitro) directly binds to SHBG - IIRC it does nothing via 5aR (like the full spectrum *might*). Examine has all the data if you want to back check that.

And the stinging nettle in M-Test isn't isolated to just 3,4 Divanil

Good info here. I would also add 3,4 div. It could be expensive and quite a headache to get all of those ingredients, capping them yourself, or just consuming a bunch of pills per day. AlphaMax XT has all of those ingredients, at proven doses, plus it contains, zinc, vitamin d3, and magnesium. You would not need to take those either. It would be a great all in one solution.

You could also try adding fish oil, to help control cortisol. Walnuts would be a good addition too.

While the placebo capsules had zilch effect, the fish oil group had much lower cortisol levels in their saliva throughout the day. They also reported lower feelings of stress.

Granted, these effects were seen in alcoholics, but the cortisol-lowering effects of fish oil, as supported by other studies, is no different in non-alcoholics.

During periods of psychological or social stress, the hormone cortisol wreaks havoc with your body. We don't need to tell you anything about that. Just how ravaging the effects of work problems or relationship perils (two of the big stressors) are for you probably depends on the fatty acid composition of your diet. If you consume relatively high amounts of omega-3 or omega-6 fatty acids the damage will be limited, biologists at the University of Vienna discovered.

The second one is an animal study, so take it as you will.

What about Bulbine Natalensis? You'd likely want to cycle it, but I was taking it with Piperine and the results seemed pretty notable.

I don't know what the general opinion around here is on the stuff, but I've had positive experiences with it.

Aside from that, you might look into Fadogia.

Outside of herbs and possibly going outside of what you call natural: DIM (a broccoli-family extract) is a estrogen regulator that could increase production of Testosterone - or, at the very least, increase the Testosterone:Estrogen ratio favorably - and D-Aspartic Acid can be used to increase the amount of FREE testosterone (not the production, as everything prior mentioned will / may do.)

Keeping your body fat low will help with keeping estrogen down, as well. If you want to go natural with the absolute fewest possible side effects or need of cycling, then getting regular exercise, good sleep, and keeping body fat low will do loads for that.

If you want to take stuff to help it along, then you're on the right track with ZMA and D3. Maybe get some omega-3s in there and read up a bit on DIM / Bulbine / Fadogia. I've yet to try Fadogia, but the studies are out there and seem very promising. Bulbine has potential liver risks tied to it, so that may be worth skipping. DIM and DAA are the gentlest that I've used that have unquestionably effective applications for T that could be considered natural (with somewhat generous applications of the term "natural").

Longjack (tongkat ali) in the form of LJ100 is one of the better herbals out there.
You can get it relatively cheap on its own.

The accepted dose is 100mg daily.

Do not be tempted by regular Longjack which is cheaper. It is less pure and you wont get the same effect.

I would not use DAA, unless test levels are abnormally low. Also, it has been reported to decrease testosterone.

The only thing DAA does from my understanding is to increase lh and FSH but not necessarily to boost free or total test.

It's more for verility and sperm quality than anything else.

That one Italian test showed it can boost those two but further tests show it does little to nothing else.

Very interesting and good to know. I had felt peppier and my voice deepened the handful of times I had run it, but now I wonder if that was placebo. Hmm.

Dunno, but it's one of those Ingredients that was popular for a bit and then fell out of popularity.

According to examine, the test boost it may give falls off to baseline within a month... And as suggested here, higher doses may reduce testosterone
