Creatine

As creatine dissolves better in warm/hot liquid compared to cold, how warm/hot can the liquid be before the creatine gets denatured or looses it's effectiveness?

Never tried anything hotter than luke warm, so interested to hear answers. I’m guessing you wanna add it to coffee or tea?

Surely it breaks down the exact same regardless when consumed so I don’t think it really matters unless it’s so hot you somehow destroy the creatine

Pretty much yeah.
I've usually tried to stick with creatine caps in the past for accuraccy, but cost wise, that's just not viable anymore

Thank you GGL AI

Creatine is a stable compound that can withstand high temperatures without degradation. Studies have shown that creatine can be exposed to temperatures up to 230°C (446°F) without losing its effectiveness.

Therefore, you can safely mix creatine with hot beverages, such as coffee or tea, without worrying about heat destroying it. However, it's important to note that prolonged exposure to extreme heat (over 450°C) may cause some breakdown of creatine

I’ve added to coffee in the morning. No issues.

I get Naked Creatine. Pretty cheap 200 (1kg) servings for $36
The way my hand was cover the screen on my phone, the only part of your post I could see was

Lol

Same here, I've put a scoop of creatine mono in my coffee a gazillion times
You guys might be on to something Creatine Keurig or pitch the idea to Starbucks they already got the protein coffees so creatine would be the next logical step

Acording to latest studies, caffeine taken 60 min before or after- counteracts the benefits of creatine. So it should never be paired - should be seperated atleast 60-120min from one another. Also 5g is recommended 1h after your cofee. Or 10-15g along with 1-3g of omega 3 fatty acids - for overall boost in brain health.
I use my creatine post-workout away from caffeine. Usually 10g. It boosts my mood and muscle recovery - highly nootropic. No problem disolving in cold/luke warm (the MH version)

I wasn’t aware of that if it’s true! I’ll still always probably take it pre workout, I don’t take stims much!

I know you can't take vitamins and minerals with coffee/caffeine, as it can effect nutrient absorbtion, but didn't realise this was the case with creatine too.

I've been washing my multi and fish oil down with my morning protein shake with creatine in it for years! Probably hasn't been abording nutrients at the potential it could it this is true.

True, the question is how much caffeine blocks everything. I take my b-vitamins and D3 in the morning + zinc and selenium- after food. With cofee. So I may be doing it wrong too. But I space out magnesium, copper, calcium and boron because all these compete for absorption. Can't even take them with zinc.

I usually try to have at least an hour before and an hour after taking my multi's and other general health supplements to have a coffee.

Is there a way to see the studies they used? Because it says “caffeine interfered with the beneficial effect of creatine” I feel like that’s vague. I say that because caffeine is a diuretic, and creatine helps hydrate the muscle cell, so on paper you can say that, but to what extent like you already asked. I promise I’m not trying to just play contrarian lol, I barely take caffiene anyways actually I’m just saying.

I don’t believe that study states what you said at all

There's something about calcium excretion that weakens the recovery benefits of Creatine. Read further studies. Dr Paul Saladino and Dr pompa had it in their reels not so long ago either with sources showing also another study showing no increase in muscle mass during knee extension training when CRE+ CAF was combined compared to people who only took CRE alone. So in conclusion CAF+CRE caused muscle loss rather than muscle gain (in this study, but if separated by an hour - all was ok. I'll try find that study somewhere. Or the reel in which saladino talks about it

That’s funny I’m a manager for Starbucks. I thought about that.
