Is this right up there with cardio on an empty stomach? Should I take CEE or whatever brand while I am cutting up? I still haven't figured it out after 10 years.

Creatine use during a cutting phase is beneficial in many ways (most notably retaining strength, intramuscular water levels, and workout intensity). Go for it.
