Country Gets HUGE with 5-3-1, Erase and DAA.

Have you tried compression wrap on the knee?

Yes and brace and few other things. I might order sleeves here. I was having an issue keeping the compression wrap on, I don't have access to anything like bike tube or the stuff for flossing it to heat and stuff. It's not swollen at all though. The brace/wrap was actually starting to hurt other parts of my leg so I'm off it now. I'm completely pain free to walk and squat at this point so easing back into the heavier weights. If it flares up again I'm getttin it checked out.

What sleeve u guys suggest. EFS reg or heavy or what.

Capo just got SBDs. Apparently they have a bunch of carryover. They felt awesome when I tried them on. They're expensive, though. Really you can't go wrong with sleeves. What wraps do you have?

Nomz and I have EFS Heavy sleeves, not the Super Heavy. Rodja sports neoprene Titans.

Thanks guys.

I was thinkin regular, are the heavies okay to wear between sets too? I basically wana wear at least the one through my workouts. I would probably use them otherwise as well but main purpose is to stabilize that knee now.

I have the EFS regular wraps 2.5m? Red ones. I was starting to use them more but obviously haven't in the past Month. I guess I could do a light wrap.

I believe EFS only sells Heavy and Super Heavy. EFS Heavy's (might as well be called regular) provide extremely minimal support in terms of rebound or stopping power and is nothing at all like a wrap. You'll be able to walk around in them all day if you want. I don't really notice any sort of stabilization but maybe they do and I don't realize it. I just use em to keep the area warm. Super Heavy's are just a double ply version of the Heavy's. It's a stretchy cloth like material. If you ever want to compete with sleeves, then you would need need neoprene Titan or Rheband.

I don't intend on competing in them at all. You're a probably right about the specific names I couldn't remember at the time. Thanks for the info, I was reading some of that on the site. Sounds like the heavies are probably what I want/need I think.

I like my SBDs so far. Give pretty good support, and help a little out of the hole. I just wanted something that would help take a bit of stress of the knee and help me avoid aggravating it again.

Thanks for the input man, think they would be a good fit for me?

Yeah I mean if you want something with a bit of support and stabilization I'd say go for it man.. If you want something that's just gonna keep the knees warm then go with something lighter like the elite heavy ones.

I put my old neoprene ham sleeve over my knee and the knee brace over that and it was warm and stable and actually pushed back a little. Ha. Got me through the session. Shoulder cramped on rep bench but otherwise good session.

Easy bench day.

Warm up with light rows and shoulder mobility.

Bench. Bar x25,20, 135x12,10,10, 225x1,12,11. 2 pause reps because I cramped.

More rows12x4x10.
Tris single cable push down 3x10x3, 15.
Core, push-ups, mobility.

Strength seems to be there, bench form was much better and more stable this time but setup was off because my spotter wouldn't get out of the way for me to get under the bar. Oh well. Gona light dead this week then take a bench day off and legs off other than some general stuff to heal and get back on my right schedule.

Deads. Bw 195.6 clothed.

Dead. Warm up. 405x5,5, 455x3, 405x5,5
Accessory.
Stretch and mobility.

EFS heavies sound like what you need, they provide good warmth with some support.

That's how I was leaning but well see what I end up doing. Had no pain really pulling yesterday and gona do a Deload deal now I think so see where I'm at next week. Got a final Friday and 2 Monday then out of here and should have a 4.0 unless I drastically fail somehow.

Took a quick study break and did a circuit with Bw squat band pulls and push-ups, 4x through 10,10,15 reps. Then mobility an stretch. 20 minutes. Go Deload. Shoulder and knee are both grumpy but feel better after now. Bw 195.2.

Yesterday did bench up to 5 sets of 7 at 225. Then did accessory.

Today I'm supposed to go pull with the guys at the one dudes big home gym. Knee felt like shiit yesterday but alright today so well go for it.

Went out to my friends gym tonight and pulled. the 3 of them (my friend, the guy who owns it, and the other guy who lifts with them who I know his brother) squatted, then 2 of them deadlifted why the guy who owns it, sherm, CG benched (up to 355x5 I might add). He just hit 470 at his last meet in the 40-44/open and set the MD record. Man has an insane bench. Probably 50 trophies around his gym. He has a record from when he was 16 back in the day that still hasn't been broken. He's a bench only guy but does squat in training and moves decent weight. His other buddy his 405x10 on squats tonight which was awesome, and my buddy bill hit up ten singles. They just did a meet together I had to skip because of the knee/shoulder. I love training with these guys so much, it's an awesome little gym with everything you need, a great atmostphere and these are probably the best guys I have ever lifted with. Invited to come and training with them 3x a week and got my own water cup and locker, LOL.

anyways I pulled, decided to go heavy tonight because the knee was feeling alright.

deads. bw - 196.

pull - 135x7,7,7 225x5,5, 315x3,3+add belt 405x3, 455x3, 495x5 (PR), 545x1, 565xditched. I had some kind of burp gut gas movement and lose tightness halfway through and just ditched it. I was pushing it as it was, and was having some digestion issues all night because of what I ate I guess. I would have hit more reps at 495 as well but I was like, moving gas every rep. No more chili for lunch I guess. Otherwise, awesome session and I pulled 565 off the group fairly easy. I was burnt at that point anyways so I probably shouldn't have pushed it but wanted to see how it felt.

cooled down - 315x5 slow reps, 225x7 SLDL.

BTW knee feels awesome now... didn't hurt at all tonight. So at least I can pull. Well see how tomorrow feels but I don't expect any pain.

I ripped open both my callouses underneath again like I was doing a few months ago, so I had to drain them and bled everything, and also chewed up my shin again too. They loved it. I taped my hands and shin up and kept going.

DB rows - 80x7, 100x7, 125x7,7, 150x5,5

happy to use his nice 150s, I can't do that anywhere else. grip was the issue on these.

light core work.

ate a shake and 2 plates of pork, potatoes, and green beans.

stretched out and cleaned my wounds.

I got a sweet gym shirt since we are gona be doing more meets together, Haus of Fury. I'll show yall.

Pretty much love the gym, the people I am training with, and the atmostphere. They are very encouraging and supportive and super good guys, I can't wait to get to know better.

Gym I took a quick pic. Sorry it's blurry.

Awesome news! This is good to hear, buddy.

That's a pretty cool group of guys, it seems. Where did you say you met them?

Thanks, I was happy to hit a PR after taking a month off too. Hopefully good DL and accessory work will keep my squat intact until I get the knee 100%

Local guys. I have lifted with the 1 at another gym. One is my pastors brother/friend from HS uncle and the guy with the gym is just friends with them. He's the one with the 470 raw bench. Super nice guys. Maybe I'll pick up some bench tips from him haha.

Congrats country, that's some promising stuff. Keep working at it and healing up, big man.

Definitely man. Just got be smart. I'm wrecked today but been active so it's not bad. Hands hurt so much last night too lol. Shoulder is a little achy. They want me back out tomorrow and they are benching but I'm free to do whatever.

Damn went from injured to crushing it in no time. Nice work.

Thanks man. Not crushing it yet but will be soon. Need to get healed and get back to 5/3/1. Knee feels good today, shoulder is grumpy. Such is life.

Workout with the guys again. I love it. Blasting hank Williams junior, Metallica. And the final countdown! Lol. Dave is 49, Sherman low 40s and bill in his 30s. All the guys were working in the 300s today, Sherman hit 405x4 at one point then did some chain and board work in the upper 300s and low 4s. Insane. He's 235ish. Dave hit 350 for A few reps I believe. Bill hit 385 in a slingshot. Lots of motivation and energy in this place. It's amazing.

I started squatting. Warmed up good up to 275. Went 275x7,7p+3,7, then dropped down. Did some reps at 135 on bench. Then some warm up at 225. Then 225x22 with a 4 board to kill my tris. Finished with some db triceps work.

Back was still stiff tonight from deads so that limited me some on squats. But zero knee pain. So happy. Shoulder was eh today but not bad. Gona rest it next week I believe. I have a feeling we are gona see good things this summer. Just waiting for the shoulder to clear up and then start that erase/anbeta I have been sittin on.

Bw was 193 today. Cutting I guess. I ate 4 cheeseburgers last night and broccoli chips and strawberries. Today I had 2 turkey and ham and cheese sandwhiches for lunch, 2 tilapia filets on pasta for second lunch, and pork, chilli, tortilleni, broccoli, and protein shake for diner.

Day 2 of DOMs. Still can't walk down stairs. Was solicited to play drums today. Then participate in mothers days activities. Have a good one every body!

Ate a ton of food today. Holy crap. Walked a few miles scouting native trout waters deep in a state park and that helped with some leg recovery but still stupid sore. Wow. Caught some nice ones. Did good on Friday too.

Also scouted out the robin nests at my place, one is hatched already. Pretty neat if you've never seen it.

Doing light tri and core work tomorrow on my own.

Squats with the guys Wednesday. Pulls Friday. Bench again next Monday hopefully I can do some real work after a little break.

Thanks big shot bobby! It's amazing to see the variety in the brown and Brooke trout in places they haven't been affected by stocking as much. I caught a few rainbows but they are ugly.

I quit going for trout because stocked trout taste exactly like ass. The only thing that cures them is a plateful of mustard. And even then, it's like eating dog food with a lot of mustard on them.

Haha they aren't bad around here honestly. Little lemon pepper butter and grilled or smoked.

That Dave guy I lift with is doing a full meet in Pittsburgh. I think he said August 16 but I could be way off. Ring a bell? I'm gona look around. I'm considering it.

Shït, hadn't heard of it. Will look. We have USPF (or whatever damn fed, raw with sleeves baloney :D ) Nationals June 6-8 here. The one I saw on the 16th was the RawDawg Nationals in Lancaster. That was a good meet last year, very competitive. Two junior 220s totaled over 1700. Dunno what my next move is going to be. Probably won't bother with the platform until I'm positive I can PR on bench and deadlift and get that pull at least in the neighborhood of my squat. Might even back off of totaling 1500 in a meet this year so I can total bigger later. Just gonna build that base.

I just looked and didn't see anything. I'm like practically deaf so I probably heard him wrong. I knew some kids who went to rawdawgs but he's a total piece of trash. So yeah. Closest one to me again this year is an unsanctioned push pull. Go figure. I'm looking for full meets but right now in no shape to do one so not gona make plans until I am and can get some direction and some momentum going again.

Legs are still Stupid sore and we squat tomorrow. Ahhhhh great.

Hopefully gona pull Friday. Might switch to pulls Monday bench Wednesday squat Friday once I get off my next Deload. Should be a better split.

Squats. Warm up. 225x5, 275x5, 315x5,7,10, 350x1, 365x1

Light deadlifts.

Pull ups 3x12

Weight 196.

Good night, squats felt good and weight moved awesome. Got a few things to fix but looks like I'm on the mend!

Getting in some really nice volume there

Definitely solid, I had more in me at 315 but that was my goal so I cut it off after that. Sherm said I had a few more for sure. Was very explosive tonight.

He also said he thinks I have a lot of potential on bench and wants to work with me once the shoulder is 100. I couldn't tell a 470 raw bencher no to free training tips! Haha.

That's awesome bud. Definitely take that free training tips! But your making great improvements, Strong squatting today.

Im excited to see what happens. Not to mention I have access to good equiptment and bars and a much better atmosphere.

This is only my second time back squatting after 7 weeks off from a knee injury, so I'll take it. Should be back up to par in a few weeks.

I'm about to be on a week solid of leg and hip DOMs. I don't even remember what walking feels like at this point. It's great though. Also 315x10 is darn near a PR for me. I'm not certain because I haven't worked that low in forever other than drop sets/ rep jokers.

Goal next week is to blast 345-355 for reps. I doubt I'll get 10 again, but you can Bet I'll try.

I'll be deloading 1st week in June and going to the beach, then, assuming my joints are all feeling good, start that anabeta/erase I have been sitting on. Then Have some fun and look for a meet and get myself back in the PR area in bench. I feel like I didn't lose anything on deads and squats are coming back great. Bench is just not happening well with heavier weights. For reps I'm matching old PRs.

Congrats on the darn near PR bro. Another Anabeta/Erase run, or your first?, maybe add in some x'gels…

Have fun at the beach. Im about another month or two out from enjoying some surfing here in SoCal myself then before I know it it'll be snow season again!
