Country Gets HUGE with 5-3-1, Erase and DAA.

I like pulling beltless... Pulled a 655 pretty easy last week. Not bad considering that's what I opened with last meet

Well my post didn't post... Cliff notes. That's awesome. The belt less wasn't the issue as much as it popped off mid lift and I just lost tension and stability and kinda freaked me out. That's +5 on t training Max, 20 under my real max, just under 3x body weight. Real weight was actually 570. So yeah. It came off the floor good though so I'm happy especially after doin my other sets. I did rack pulls after without belt. I don't use it except for over like 80% reps usually.

Gona type up workout now hopefully this posts.

D2w2c15. Deads. Bw198.

Warm up. 390x3, 450x3, 505x4 (last rep hitched, oops) 565x1. Didn't lock out because of belt exploding. So like 3/4th rep. Lol.

Rack pulls 500x1,1,1,1 set just below knees at my weak point to lockout.

Sit up decline - 50,40,30,20,10

So today I focused on form and a flat back and looked a LOT better. I still am getting high hips and my shoulders are a little forward of the bar which I need to address. Lots of little things to fix. I felt good this session though, strong, no pain, kept form and back flat.

I ended up at my gym not the good one so... Missed out there. Friday I am going to squat with them though.

Mobility is getting better, I've identified and am fixing form issues... This is all good and will pay off big in a few months.

I have vid I will get up eventually.

Ps inzer or Texas (toro or longhorn)/single prong or lever?

I've never tried lever, but I hear good things. I use a single prong. If you tighten it using a rack like I do it shouldn't make a difference. If you don't know what I'm talking about and have been shredding your elbows putting on your belt, go for a lever.

Double prong is an erroneous concept, single is where its at. I prefer lever though but it is kind of a pain to have to adjust it when your bloated or the opposite. Only takes a second though

Ps inzer or Texas (toro or longhorn)/single prong or lever?

I don't think you will go wrong on any of these options.

I personally do single prong for convenience. Lots of guys at the gym have lever...so either way.

Getting a good belt is such a rewarding investment Country.

My posts are not posting tonight. So frustrating. Thanks guys. Rob I'm def excited to upgrade to a real belt it's just killing me to choose. I can't find an inZer for sale anywhere other than direct. Might get a longhorn.

Toro is supposed to be ok, but I wouldn't get one myself

Did you look at ATP yet? There's a permanent 10% discount code somewhere around here

Yeah I couldn't find the inzer on there or I would and I've seen the discount.
That's why I said longhorn, supposed to be the strongest lever on the market. And lifetime warranty on it all just like inzer. But it's 5 bucks more with a lever so if I can find an inzer on apt I'll get it.

Yeah I don't think they have inzer at all. Maybe long ago...

That other lever don't sound bad, lifetime warranty and all

Yeah it's supposed to be good. Rob has one. It's got a big bull on it too, I'll have to learn a Texas accent and wear a cowboy hat for my lifts.

I don't even know what belt I would order from APT.

Also turns out the belt I have been using and just killed, was passed down to me from my brother, who got it from my dad because they made him wear them at work back in the late 80s/early 90s? to work when he had to lift equipment. Who knows... but yeah I killed a family heirloom I guess.

Hahaha love that. We passed around an old-ass belt back when I trained at my buddy's house. That and the bar was so old we got rust everywhere and the knurling was all worn away.

yeah basically my gym... so today I got warned about being too loud deadlifting. I still work there just not actively now since I'm at school. Apparently they are making all the gym members sign a paper saying they won't drop weights, will wear shoes, etc... our fitness portion got bought out by a local (30 mins away) doctor ( we are a chain) and the PT portion by USPT. So.... stuff is changin, I may not have a job or gym when I go home this summer. Stupid.

I need to order a belt. Now. Someone make up my mind for me.

Check house of pain for Inzer belts? If you like it tight, get a lever. If you like it loose, get a single prong. If you like it tight on the deadlift and looser on the squat, get a lever and have a screwdriver on you all the time. 10mm either way. I got a 13mm and really unless you plan on squatting a grand in the future, 13 is just excessive.

I'm getting a 10, level. I have the longhorn up and it's in stock in large. and nose tork. for like 110 shipped. Inzer and nose tork both out of stock at HOP. Bleh. Looks like I might become a texan. I have heard a lot of good things about their belts so I am not really worried, but I like plan stuff like the inzer belt a little better. But whatever.

It's done. Longhorn and tork on their way to school. I hope I have them by tuesday so I can DL in it.

Bro, I still absolutely love my belt so I think you will enjoy it...especially coming from a belt from 1973 ;) lots of good belts out there.

Edit: I think capo has it, too

I've read many good things on them so I'm not worried. And for a lever I want the strongest.

Yep decent price and a life time warranty, that was the difference for me tbh. Belt does the job forsure man.

caught up, when do you plan on a max pull?

<----interested...

Next time I have a meet hahaha. Early summer I hope.

D3w2c15

Bench. Bar 50 reps roughly. 135x3setsx7 stretched chest.

Been fixing lots of crap on my jeep lately that was left over from the accident. Since I had so many custom things done I have tons if little details to go over check and fix etc. also chasing down some old issues. Broke out the welder to brush up a little bit. We are already planning lots of trips for this summer. Gona be dumping a ton of $ Into my jeep too. Also some food porn from the week. Not excited for class to resume Monday. I have an exam already Wednesday. On circulatory pathways. Aka I have to know them all like a map. Fun.

Yeah it's nice to cook for myself again. And we just had mid terms. I have all As right now killed my tests so good... Lowest grade was like a 98 got 100s on my other 6 exams tests and quizzes... But we literally didn't learn it just have a test on the pathways. I know them pretty well but the professor is insane so who knows what the test format will be. And the fact that its so close after break means studying over break which no one wants to do haha.

Yeah man - good luck on the exams - sounds like you got it under control though.

Interesting day but turned out well.

D4w2c15. Squat. Bw 196.

Squat. Warm up. 135x10,3. 225x3,3, 290x3, 330x3, 370x1 (bombed 2nd too deep lost tightness) 370x2 belt slipped. Taped belt on with athletic tape. 370x3. +wraps 405x1. Remove wraps 315x7 275x8or9 Lost count.

Core - 25,30,35,30,25

Stretch. Out to eat for Mexican now. Vids later. Not bad for dead lifting 2 days ago. My schedule was all messed up and I deadlifted day late and I was still a little beat down so I'm happy. Took me a while but got my 3 after I got the belt on securely. I felt good today really but weight felt heavy.

Taped your belt on? wat?

lol good thing

Deads from last week. First one was good and I set up much better, but after that didn't reset right and didn't get/stay tight. Still better than last weeks and heavier. Just gota keep improving. I think my back/spine mobility is helping too. Dang belt is killing me though. That hitch was no good belt went loose on that rep I think.
Invalid Link Removed

I think getting down and tight then getting my hips up into position will be golden for me... I have to get low to get the back tight, but I need to get my hip starting position better. And I think start the bar a little more in front of me, or sit back a little more. I hate lifting with straps as far as setup.

Squats:

any pro-tips on these? Thanks guys.

i thought your squats were pretty good. great depth, chest up was pretty good. the 405 i'd say is 95% for you. good job.

bro, ass was shooting up on your deads and you know it. you're better than that man...

Ya I literally SLDL everything.... I need to get my hammys up to speed to hold me down I think. I have trouble clearing my knees without high hips though too. Long legs suck.

when you can do this, you'll pull 700...

I agree I have been hittin them a lot more to strengthen and isolate. Tore my left one in HS. They are def a weak link. Gona work on them. Will help with squat too.

PS I suck at wrapping my knees I need to practice more.

Shoulder was cranky past few days from squats I think. I've been taking care of it though. I dunno what ill do today, supposed to bench 185.

So I iced and mobilized today and some heat and stretch before the gym today. Reduced the issue but it was still funky. But no issues on the bench and feels alright now too. Gona rest Thursday I think and decide what to do for Deload next week.

D1w3c15. Bench rehab. Bw198.4

SetXreps
Bench. Barx5x5. 135x3x7, 185x5,5,7.

Lat pull down 8x10,12,15,12,10

Face pulls. Never did these and don't know if I did Em right. I wanted to give the shoulder a break from back work in that plan and isolate more. Did 4 sets. 3x7, 5x10, 7x10,10

Tri db skulls. 30x10,15,18

Cable tris 10x2x10

10 push-ups but shoulder was tired so I stopped.

Abs. 10x25,25. BwX25.

Stretched whole body.

Feeling much better today so far. Gota keep taking care of it. Gota figure out what to do over my next few sessions.

That's ridiculous man. DL's are inherently loud, especially when you're pulling 5+. So, they're pretty much telling you you're not aloud to DL. It's not like you're being obnoxious, they've just never picked anything heavy up off the ground.

You're line of thinking takes too much common sense that these college girls don't have. Hahaha. It'll be okay. I work there and know them all its just annoying. And exactly. I'm actually pretty quiet with it compared to most. Oh we'll. really wish my belt was here.

I think I might play around with sumo today.

Today I literally felt terrible. No energy, no motivation, tired, weight felt heavy, etc. I came into the gym with a bad mindset but ended up making a decent day out of it.

Deads. D2w3c15 bw-198.2

deads. warm up with sumo and convo 135.
convo: 225x7,5,5 whatever, 315x3, 3,
work sets: 420x5, 475x3 (add straps) 530x2 (PR I believe)

gona have to train my hips for sumo. Felt prettty easy though.

back extn 190x3x10

stretch

ate 2 sandwiches with chicken ham and cheese, some scalloped potatoes, some fish, and 2 slices white pizza with peppers onions and sausage. and my shake.
