Pretty awesome log(and beard) I'm about as caught up as one can be for joining after 74 pages... But In for 5/3/1 win and getting pumped to start it myself after reading this!
Yes about an hour East., OP yeah I might see you at that meet in 2014. If I'm 40 minutes from you maybe we can meet up to train sometime.Out by Pittsburg right?
Lots of PA bros on AM
You jelly mr. Nj?
I'm not from dirty jersey brother. I do get in for free however, yet they make me pay to leave unless I sneak out if a tiny little bridge over the Delaware river![]()
We we prob could. What gym do you train at?
Yes sir lots of PA/ east coast guys. I have a lot of strongman buddies in NY/NJ.

Highland games guys? I wanna check that out sometime in the future.

Not sure. They have a gym called HURT, one guy is a national competitor and stuff. I guess he has met/knows some guys from JTS/Lilly? I can't remember what he said specifically when we were talking about the cube last year. Other guy I talk to is just getting back into it. Met them through a mutual friend (through offroading/jeeps), but we basically BS about lifting stuff now. Might be going up there for the 4th of July this year to chill, wheel, lift, whatever. Where you at in NJ? I know they aren't too far.
He is messing around. I'm in PA...I am just really close to jersey in PA so I have had some jobs there in the past.
I got ya. You two should do the meet in Lancaster next year.
I dunno. RPS meet. look it up. I can't remember specifics at the moment.
I think so too. So I just can't deadlift too much?![]()
Sean, how much it cost you to lift at RPS? Including card
No card. Just pay for the meet. 80-90 bucks for a division, 30 bucks me to carry over into a second division. Got a free tshirt lol
Thanks Sean, I knew you would know haha. I was mostly just joking about it haha. I see PRO is 1400 for 181 and 1475 for 198. But not sure what those numbers correspond with? Like the level to be in those classes or the limit.
Wow, that's pretty sweet. I spent 50 bucks on a card for a year, 100 for the meet, and bought my own t shirt. Absolutely no complaints about how it was run or equipment...but pricey in comparison. Got a t-shirt bc it has all the lifters names. Got a nice trophy too so I guess it all costs.
I gotta try RPS in the future.
You and smoker should plan to do that one in feb w/ me. It's my only shot to hit a meet before I enter the Junior Age group/set records in 18-19 hahaha. Which is super doable. Because the only record at all is a 315 bench lol.
Well I'll have to see where the money situation and all that gravy is in February, but I would definitely be interested in sometime in the new year. Would be cool.
Dude, your RICHard....
I'm down for a feb meet no question
Yeah Rob don't be a pansy, make smoker drive you+ pay for gas, and it's like 85 for the meet. Put 30 away every month for the next 3 and you'll be set. easy.
Smoker will never drive me anywhere. I'll drive, he can pay. Woman driver. All gas and brake.
There's no reason to go into an unsanctioned meet to get your name on a board, only to tie gym PRs. That's a waste of time. Go all out. Always go all out. Never once should you ever do a meet, and wonder if you should go for a PR or not
Maybe set it up like
Something you can triple
Current gym pr or close to it
A new pr dependent on how the bar speed is and how you feel
You're absolutely right, that's what I was thinking. Okay that makes sense. That would be - Dead- 500, 550, 575/585 depending on how I feel Bench- 285, 315, 320 unless I felt amazing.
That's along the lines of what I do/want to do. I have a guy I have trained w/ coming to watch/help me warm up and help if they need it. My biggest worry at this point is grip, I haven't been able to train w/ normal bars just these crappy ones at school for a while now. Here's to hoping they have quality normal sized bars.
