Country Gets HUGE with 5-3-1, Erase and DAA.

How you liking anabeta Sean? I ordered 4 bottles of the OG by mistake, only was wanting 2. Interested to see how it treats me. Also, got some Dpol, which I love, and going to try xgels too.
 
What do you think about flat feet vs toes.

I spent a lot of time on my toes. It's very good for building a stable base and a big arch, but I see a lot of people whose hip flexors can't handle it. If you want flat feet, I recommend a shoe with a heel. Go back over Dan Green and Dave Tate's instructionals for foot placement and find where it works for you.

Herd, I've tried toes, like monday I tried it, and it was alright. I think yesterday I was tight from pulling the day before. You can see I get up on my toes but my butt/back is like a foot off the bench and I don't have THAT much ankle mobility to make up for it there, and certainly not at my hips/pelvis considering I'm lucky to even have the little bridge I do. I will check that stuff out, but probably keep the flat feet for my max monday. I do everything in my old, old nilkes that are low but have a small heel. I never like any other shoe I try.

I've been hearing more about natadrol lately - might have to check into it. I liked OG AB as well - Elite was decent, but I think I like to original better -

Good luck finding it. They quit making it. I got some of the last. If you really want some I will share the one place I know that still has some. I know there are others though, it's dwindling. I'm thinking about buying a stack to put away for a rainy day.

No prob. I have 9 days left of my 3rd and final bottle right now. Last week I think I really started feeling it, I almost want to extend it another bottle.
 
I don't know why I get so amped on deload week... I'm about to squat like 205... whatever... a few more days until some serious stuff. I'm so ready. Body should be ready to GO then.
 
Squats felt awesome. Worked up to 205x3x3 got a nice low bar setup and bam, good things. Awesome... did a few lighter sets and light rowing and abs... rest time now. Then hammer time.

It's older too so guys who use it seem to keep quiet like I do and yeah LG ain't around on here much any more.

I get raw strength and hold some extra water and gain a few pounds of muscle. At the end I really firm up and muscle seems denser. And a good mentality.
 
I like a raised heel slightly for my pull. Maybe I'm weird. The flats were for squat. If I don't need em I won't get em. I left then at the store.

No offense but a narrower grip seems to open up a can of worms for me. I think I more or less need to just keep the arms to my body like herder discussed above. A narrower grip is just gona make things worse unless I bring my arms/elbows to my body as well. If I can get my arms tucked more then I can try a slightly narrower grip.

Lol. My grip is pretty narrow by PL standards and not very tucked either. Im almost at 4 hundo now so after some thought I feel positioning the press is even more individual in comparison to squat and DL. And I have next to zero arch, pretty much flat back press...
Im still working on my squat more than anything, trying to drop into the hole with less effort while still in control seems inescapable to me atm but Im dedicated to hitting 500+ by the new year. My DL is good either conv or sumo and at this point I feel like its only time in training that is holding me back from a 550 pull...
Ditch those straps bro. Great friggin pulls but train like you fight... $0.2

With my hands in that far my arms get really crooked/weird and it hurts.
 
Do you do close grip bench for your triceps?
 
No. They are normally pretty fried after prescribed regular bench. And accessory. I do work underhand bench every once in a while. Like I said close grip bothers my shoulders over time. I could try and work a few sets in.
 
I was just going to use that to reference the position of the elbows and how that is where they should be at the bottom of your regular bench lift. Do you have an injury in your shoulders and has it been diagnosed?
 
No injury.


That makes sense ill look at the. I still can't get my elbows there at the bottom because of my lats. maybe I can wrap them more. Ill try to get a pic. You see how low my elbows get to bring the bar to my chest.
 
Play around holding your arms out like your holding a bar and pull back squeezing your back. You'll notice the lower they are, the greater back activation you have-that's where you want em. A mini-band is a good, cheap investment to practice that.
 
That's my issue my lats flare so much my arms can't go down where I want them as easy.. I definitely feel what you're talking about but I need to nail a stance/arch that allows me to maintain that arm angle. I think it's all in form and as I dial in each part it will get better as a whole.

I know you like to wrap your shoulder blades, but when you're benching, you really do need to pinch them.

I'm trying to remember who said to wrap the lats down and shoulder blades pinched but down and wrapped. I don't think wendler... Hmm. But it's supposed to avoid upper back issues and actually generate more power. Now that I'm laying off the OHP I can actually pinch them now though without pain most of the time. I may be bet exaggerating the wrap though.

I know it was an article on here. What you have to remember is that what's good for a jack-of-all-trades is not necessarily good for a guy trying to maximize his total.

Nah squat and bench seem to be gaining nicely and once I get things dialed in that should accelerate even more.
 
No doubt...the strength is there and once you find the groove things should explode.

Looking for meets. RPS has one but it's on september 28th but I don't have a belt, singlet, or money, and my squat isn't ready. Still tempted to do it... Next RPS meet is the weekend before my finals (Dec. 7th) and I will probably be studying all that weekend... I might do it but I gota see how the semester knows before I commit to something in that time. Last one is Feb 8th the barno-newman classic in lancaster. I would do this one.

There is a 100% RAW central PA open meet in bigler on Nov. 10th. Thinking about this one. No meet info up yet tho. I would do this one too.

This wouldn't be bad either, I can use my stupid velcro belt and it's cheaper... lol. A little further away though (3.5 hours).

If any of you guys know of any more or are thinking of doing any of these let me know. I wouldn't mind having someone with some experience there with me.

Give yourself an entire training cycle and then do it up! Might want to invest in like an EFS strong(er) lever belt for $50 or a Texas belt for like $25. Or just train and do the meet without a belt. Paul Carter is jacked and that's what he does.

Literally all it takes for these meets is to plan out an entire training cycle leading up to it, pay the entry, and go.

I can get in 6 weeks (2 cycles) of 5-3-1 and a Deload for that meet. Hmmmmm.

I'm from Western PA. Like so far west, I took a walk into West Virginia this morning. Next meet I'm thinking of is XXX in Columbus on December 14. I'll be doing it either way, I have to get out there to see my best friend and his lovely wife and son. Columbus is the closest drive of any of the upcoming meets besides one in Parkersburg, WV. That one is raw/single ply, so I don't know if I'd be able to perform well raw after training in gear. And I don't really think I'd have time to make any worthwhile improvements in two months considering I should start back at square 1 after this training cycle..
 
Yeah man good points for you. You're probably two hours max from me then. I'm surprised there aren't more meets in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. I'm smack dab between pitt and Harrisburg. I have family in h burg that would probably put me up the night before a meet though. I have a few local guys who might do it and I may talk some of my buddies at school into competing. That would actually be good for them for training too.

Me too. There's a push/pull in March/April every year and there was a full power meet in May as well. Both unsanctioned. I'd highly recommend coming out to the next Pittsburgh Monster Meet. That's a wild one with strong mofos coming out of the woodwork. I was thinking about emailing Gene with RPS to ask him to try to get the other meet run bigger and better.
