I live in League City, TX (southeast Houston). I am getting HIDs installed tomorrow. I have factory headlight lamps. I want to get 8000k (pretty blue) but im afraid ill get pulled over as my car attracts cops as it is. I see people with HIDs all the time in my area. Should i get something around 6000k? would you pull somebody over for HIDs?

6000 is more of a "natural" white and will look closer to a factory HID than 8000. 8K is really, really blue and will stand out quite a bit. I know in Hawaii and Oregon that will surely get you pulled over but I don't know about other states.

yeah ive decided to go with the white i think....i dont have projector headlights so i hope it doesnt blind people. could i angle the bulb lower to prevent this?

No, you won't be able to angle them. I ran aftermarket HID's on one of my old cars without projectors about 6 years ago and light spilled everywhere. It was BRIGHT! Funny thing is that I actually got pulled over for them and for my wheels (Hawaii is very strict on recon laws) but I played dumb and told the officer that the lights were OEM HID's that I paid the dealership to install pre-delivery for $1200 and he didn't question it. The HID set actually cost me only $120 and I installed them myself! lol

i dont have projectors or anything. got them in today. looks good but it isnt night yet. i hope they arent too bright....probably will be though lol i see tons of people around here having really deep blue HIDs, prob around 12000k. hopefully i dont get stopped. if i do, ill say i bought the car this way

If you are going to do HID's at least do them right with some retrofits, so you get the benefits of HID's. Putting HID's in non projectors is ghetto..lol

What kind of vehicle is this?

it looks really good. doesnt look ghetto at all. hope i pass inspection or will have to ask a friend where he goes

2001 honda accord ex V6. got it all pimped out haha

It is ghetto in every sense of the word..lol But if you are happy with it. It defeats the entire purpose of HID's(focused beam/increased visibility/light output). You don't want to be throwing light all over the place, and THAT is what gets you pulled over, not the HIDs

This is the right way,but it is more money :)

mine are 8000k but it isnt as blue as you think....its a cool blue but bright. it isnt that dark blue/purple look.

and im pretty sure those are illegal...the turn signal has to be orange

The turn signal IS orange..lol It just isn't in the headlight.

It isn't being blue that makes it ghetto. And HID needs a projector to focus the light, and provide a sharp cut off. People get pulled over not because of the color, but because they put HID's in non projector headlights which throw light all over the place, and blind people.. If you have a properly set-up set of projectors, that are leveled, you would NEVER have a problem.

not true. my friend got stopped, cop put a piece of paper in front of the light. if it turns blue its illegal which i think is bogus. anyways, would these work with my HIDs i have? i a sound/stereo person when it comes to cars. dont know much about headlights lol

Does he have projectors?

No, those are junk. You want retrofits. They take your OEM light, and fit the projectors from an s2000, tsx, etc inside there. All oem parts.

yeah. only stopped once. so would the shop that i got my HIDs at be able to do retros possibly? i know u dontknow for sure, but ya

ill post a pic of what i have tonight and will u tell me what i need to do? i already have the HIDs installed on the OEM housing
