impressive. What brand and model did you buy? I've always wanted a 1911I bought a 1911 and am perfectly happy with it, no upgrades needed.

I have. Wilson combat and a kimber, if you aren't looking to spend a arm and a leg like the Wilson I would look into kimbers. Smooth shooter and no upgrades needed just so accurate out of the box. I have the CDP II and it ran me around 1k. The picture is from my kimber. Next range day I'll upload one from the Wilson. Ran me 2k. But Springfield also make great start 1911s. I am looking to buy the TRP as we speak, has a nice rail which my other two don't. 1911s are my life hahahimpressive. What brand and model did you buy? I've always wanted a 1911

I've only shot my glock twice now but give me some time and maybe I can get close to grouping like that lol.I have. <img src="http://anabolicminds.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=115290"/> Nope, I tried today but didn't come close to shooting super tight groups. That was 8 yards
the Evo Elite ghost trigger really helped my groupings. I literally cannot predict when the trigger will break. If I squeeze the trigger like I'm target shooting the break is non existent it just happens and surprises me. But if I'm doing double taps or drills or something and doing quick trigger pulls its light, clean and crisp every time. Best $40 I've ever spent for that connector. Took 2.5hr to stone grind and polish the TCT down to precisely where it needed to be but it was worth it. I ground off .015-.02" at a time. My back hurts again just thinking about it.Still i great group, I know I couldn't shoot that with a polymer frame haha. Mine was around 10 yards also. If glocks framed weighted more I would be happier and maybe buy one. You have me wanting to go shooting today!! Thank you

no two handed, it was between the 20 and 30ft mark so yea about 8 yards.8 Yards? were you shooting one handed?
first time using the new sights and first time using the new trigger so I used man sized targets and had them closer.I normally only set the target to 10-15 yard. Mostly 15

well it's not a penis measuring contest, I went to the range and had a bunch of stuff in and on my gun I've never had before and was using a man sized target. Not sure what the big deal is. I shoot because I conceal carry, i very rarely stick a target up past 7-8 yards because that's probably no farther away that what a real life situation would be. Just like I don't bother setting up a turkey target for my shot gun past 50 yards.8 yards...you mine as well have the end of the barrel touching the paper lol.

not sure how that cannot be taken as an insult....please post pictures of your 50 round group with your carry gun.I thought this discussion was for experirenced shooters, my bad. No disrespect intented.![]()
I agree. As someone working in the engineering field I would like to add "once you get a nice compromise of precision vs speed". Accuracy can be translated into a nice clean group 4ft off the bullseye while precision can be translated as a good group over the bullseye. I need to find a range I can do speed drills on, after I moved to Arkansas I don't have any ranges that allow drills. It sucksNational data shows you should concentrate on ranges dealing from contact distance to 7 yards.... at night. Once you get a nice compromise of accuracy vs SPEED, then you can play around with a short gun at 25 yards. Never bring a pistol to a rifle fight. JMHO.
heck yea! Looking forward to the range reportGoing to range this weekend, freshly cleaned wilson... hmmmm can't wait haha will post range report
Haha, not a big deal at all. Just felt like I needed to give you $h!T. I thought this discussion was for experirenced shooters, my bad. No disrespect intented.![]()

Laser finder had that at 10.2 yards.
don't see the relevance...:dunno:
no, no laser. I'm a surveyor so I have what is essentially a range finder except it measures to the inch. That was with a glock 19, extended lone wolf barrel, stock sights, 2lb trigger, Speer lawman ammo.If that with a laser sight then i'm impressed...its hard to hold those things steady lol
I agree, well saidYou're commenting on the ranges that people are training at, suggesting that 7 yards is ridiculous, and implying (or I'm inferring) that you need to be concentrating at 25 yards, etc.. for self defense situations. My comment about bringing a pistol to a rifle fight was my humorous way of saying that if you are engaging "threats" at 25 yards (self defense at 25 yards? LOL - just GTFO of there) than you better be using an M4. IMO of course.
Any of you ever felt tempted to pull your gun on anyone while using gear? I ask because I saw this at my gym once. A dude who looked like he was on tren and god knows what else threatened to unload his weapon on some guy because they got into some petty argument. Seems like **** like that happens a lot where I live not sure where all of you are from
I typically carry my m&p shield 9mm. IWB holster is what I've grown most comfortable with over the years.

If there is anything I can tell you. Is to let the small sh1t go. Just pulling a gun (depending on state) is grounds for prosecution unless warranted. And an argument is never grounds. Even if he threatens you. As most CCW instructors would teach if he doesn't have a way to threaten you you can't escalate with a gun. If he threatens you with fists you can't escalate with a gun. Now that can change depending on what is in his hand (ei. Knife, baseball bat, other type of weapon), or if there is more then two in his group. Now I'm not a lawyer but if you had to go though the training I had to go (Illinois CCW) you would be careful with carrying a gun. But in the end it's your choice, but remember you pull and he calls the cops. You are the one who escalated and they (cops) may not see things your way. Like I say let the small sh1t go. People will piss you off all the time.
