Can anyone explain the difference between these two compounds in layman's terms?

4-chloro-17a-methyl-17b-hydroxyandrosta-1,4-dien-3-on3

4-chloro-17a-methyl-androst-1,4-diene-3,17b-diol

4-chloro-17a-methyl-androst-1,4-diene-3,17b-diol should be the precursor to 4-chloro-17a-methyl-17b-hydroxyandrosta-1,4-dien-3-one. Don't know if the diol has any "activity" on it's own.
