Cissus/Powerfull and a weak liver

I've been using cissus and powerfull for the last few years. (Amazing products btw, if you haven't tried them...YOU SHOULD!)

I try and spread the news about usp to people i know who are gonna be changed by the outcome. My father is starting to get into age and his joints are starting to give him the usual and his sleep isn't as great.. The only problem is that his liver is not so strong...far more weak than it should be at his age. I haven't found any research  or personal logs that suggests he shouldn't use cissus (or powerfull) because of his liver, but I just wanted to ask!

Any help/suggestion is absolutely appreciated,

Hey man. Ive been in the same boat w/my father with training and wanting him to take some much beneficial supps that could improve and possiblly increase his own health. The best thing for you guys too do is bring the supps you think will benefit him to his doctor.or he can. and make sure also that the dr. is abit familiar and not a hater of sports medicine and supplements(they are out there). He or She will be able to tell if it mix or not with him and or any meds he may be taking.I think its great your supporting your father, and usp makes great products. CHEERS:thumbsup:

I would advise speaking to a physician, but to my knowledge, neither SCRX or PowerFULL pose an contraindications with any Liver conditions or medicine. Conversely, Cissus' reparative action via the inhibition of inflammatory Cytokines has been shown to repair gastric ulcers. Not entirely on topic, but thought I would add that!

wisdom and fear

both replies are wise: go talk to the doc.

and sometimes fear takes the best of us: doc might disagree...either because he's a hater or because he's telling the truth, but the fear that he might disagree ignites my rebellion to prove him wrong....

We'll go talk to doc. Thanks for showing some light on the path.

Some points of interest would be to mention Cissus' potent anti-gluccorticoidal activity; particularly, the inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokines (and therein TNF-1ALPHA in particular). While, as I said, this shouldn't present any contraindications, these anti-inflammatory properties may interfere with the actions of certain medications. With that being said, the phytochemicals within Cissus have never displayed any hepatic distress in any clinical trials; human or otherwise. The danger - while incredibly low - would be from contraindications posed to medications, rather than the possibility for native hepatic stress.
