Ciprofloxacin and training

Hello lads,
I’m taking this medication for an infection,
I didn’t know it was so bad on muscles and tendons,until I casually read the leaflet after a week of use ( prescribed for 2 weeks ),
this thing is scaring the **** out of me,
is it safe to train on this stuff??
Any supplement that I can take to minimize the risk of injuries??

Let your dr treat you .. if you were prescribed a strong antibotic .. theres something going on in your system.

dont worry about your training .. yes it will be bad for muscles/tendons .. but i assume you will be tapering off hopefully in future.

I was on predinose and its horrible for muscles, joints, makes you all depressed and stuff but knew the importance of it to be on it and i didnt mix it with any supplements.

I would assume you can take supplements on it .. but since its fighting bacteria in your system .. seek dr advice .. maybe just ask him that you take some preworkout/post if its okay.

just my 2cents .. maybe someone here has been on it and can chime in.
 
Cipro is the tendon-buster. Definitely heard of guys who have blown muscles off getting back to training after a course of cipro.

Take it really easy for 4-6 weeks, most of the injuries happen about a month after the course. You can’t change that you started it but you can be smart about how you proceed. Keep all of your training very submaximal. Not just the weights, but the intensity for what you can do with it. If you can do 3x10 with a weight, try to do a very easy 5x5-6 with the same weight instead. Exercise isn’t bad, but you don’t want to push those tendons at all when brittle.
 
Using an antibiotic for something it is not intended for is not the best idea. Antimicrobial resistance is not a joke; you might regret taking antibiotics without a valid reason later.
You can look at Invalid Link Removed for some better decisions. Even drugs like Viagra or Cialis, which some use to gain testosterone and build muscle mass faster, are less harmful in this regard. Try them or go for something more conventional, like peptides or proteins. You need to be sure you will not harm your body with something you take. Maybe even consult a doctor to find out what will fit you better.
