Chasin' Gaynor...

It certainly is for sure. It is just that at my age, it is not really easy, to just go in and a few weeks get back to my typical training loads.
Takes us a few weeks just to warm up the muscles! Age presents it's challenges!

This
What really sucks too kiddo, (and I think Al Oerter said it) by the time I learned to think and train like a champion, my body was too old to respond well to it.

Oh well, you be the best you can be, for what you have to work with, eh...!?

Felt like training today, so I will chalk this one up as a keeper.
Block pulls felt tight and I was experiencing a little with keeping my chin down more and trying to keep the low back thus the hams real loaded and springy. The 25 reps squats got me puffing some, so I will call that my cardio LOL.

Then some mobility junk.

Slowly seem to be bringing my rt shoulder back to par. Still have weakness holding a lateral, doing a hammer curl and on any OH work or chest press that rt delt drags behind the left some or almost tries to splint, but without any pain. Any tricep holding rt to lft seems to be okay and quite balanced. Either way, it seems better than it was and is going in the right direction.
Really painful triggers under rt arm in lat and in back rt scapula. A few in the trap and rt side of neck too. Lots of tension in there as I can feel, when I consciously relax it, how much more is in that side, than the left.
All in all just some fun rep stuff

Worked all weekend and a lot of on my feet time. Still, I wanted to kick it some today and was a bit surprised the #545 felt as tight and fast as it did.
I could not think of going to a deficit today however so I tried some speedish pulls with the #405+.

Strong brother, strong! Have you been following the BLR Follidrone logs? I'd like to see what you can DL with that compound. The only supplement I've seen you mention was Anabeta.

I have not actually.
I know I get a kick from coffee but I think lots of supps have caffeine in them. I try an stay naive to the stuff, (I don't use or drink it everyday) that way it does give me a better kick I think.

Ha ha yeah that too
I do wrist curls off the end of a bench start heavy and keep breaking down weight higher reps.
Some reverse curls for tops of forearms

TMS is slowly going. Seem to pinpoint that it is primarily effecting the nerve impulse to the anterior delt (the weakest area in rt shoulder) No real effect in grip strength and any tricep load work matches the left arm but lateral and anterior holds were very sub par to left side. It seems to be slowly coming back. Pulling bis or lat muscles are not or hardly at all effected.
The TMJ is nearly gone along with the strip of pain that ran down the rt. side of my neck into the trap and upper scapula. Still some triggers in there, but not near as painful as a week ago. Some odd rt. ear noise is also subsiding.

Weren't you doing some lift a while ago that involved rounding the back? Been reading lots of logs. Anyway, these right shoulder area issues could be related.

Did not follow any schedule pulling today, as I have not felt like lifting much lately (at least dead reps) I just felt like pulling some heavy singles. Sometimes instinctive training, is all that has worked for me over the years, as certain routine schedules constantly dictate what you have to do and that bores me out the assss at times.
After I started just hitting singles, my head got more into it, so I ran some box work and then just wanted to row some.
On another note, the lateral and anterior shoulder weakness is much less and the TMJ in my rt. jaw is pretty much gone. I get a tight feeling in my neck on occasion, but nothing like it was a few weeks ago. It is slowly disappearing. Maybe I'll write about all this stuff that has happened to me one of these days!?

I'd read PB's memoirs! Nice work today, that's a lot of band-age.

Strong pulls, squats and rows! Glad you got your head in the game. Think what you can do if you had your head and a 30 year old body?!

Zerchers eh? Rough

They put a ton of static pressure on my abs, ie: entire front frame and make it pretty uncomfortable to breathe while working. Maybe I have some feeling that will bump pulls to another level. Hey if Oralndo Green can do em' I'll try em' out.

I've seen on another forum, a 198'r doing them for 405+ for reps. Insane. Definetly a difficult lift.

Really popular in the Highland games community. I gave them a try and it was horribly painful lol.

Solid work Paul!

Felt strong pulling today, especially up thru knees and to lockout. Maybe it is the box squats!?

Sounds like the box squats gave ya some glute strength.

I'll take it. I mean I already ACT like a big ass, so I might as well sport one...!

I like how you hammer all the different pull heights

Honestly, some of these "higher" heights, are harder to get started off the pins than the lower ones. I can also gauge moving towards the floor pretty well, without having to use a full ROM, that beats me up quicker. Make any sense???

Felt like hitting it hard today and I think the #570 from a 2" def is a PR, but just because I never tried that weight from that height, does not mean I could not have gotten it when I was up over #600-#610 from floor. Either way, it helps the ego boost and I needed to get some rough measures on some long pulls.
Some personal problems are kind of ironing themselves out, so maybe my head and stay clearer for some serious attempts at getting some movement upwards again in pulling.

I found a pic of you, Paul

Big and looooong. Very nice, Paul.

Congrats on the deficit PR. That's a mighty large weight, Paul!

Thanks guys, it felt pretty good to get back to some rather heavy gravity defying ;-)

This ended up being an okay W/O, but when I first got in there, I didn't feel like training much at all. I had to really keep pushing myself and anything from the 2" def felt insanely heavy, so I moved to some speed work there. The #500's felt like #600+
I think I need a break to do some light rep work.

These are still very strong lifts! We all do our best and the mere fact you are still lifting heavy says something about your resolve. I think a lifting competition would be a good thing to sign up for. It would give you a goal to work toward plus I know you would kill the competition.

Well, at this point I don;t feel like any kind of really structured training right now and heavy stuff has just kinda gotten old in some ways. I am thinking of doing some biking over the summer and some BBing stuff and lighter work with some volume "sounds" like fun to me.
I just get beat up trying to keep outdoing some of those sessions.
