Changing biceps

Over the last few weeks of training, my biceps have made a weird change. They are shrinking as far as how far out they stick, but growing in thickness. I kinda like it because I've never been able to get them to thicken but I don't understand why it's happening all of a sudden or why theyre not growing both directions. Any ideas?
 
Have you made any changes to your back or arm routines? Or in your diet?
 
My diet is the same. I am doing more isolation exercises now though. I guess that's it, but it confuses me cuz I used to do a lot more than I am now for my biceps and no matter what I did they wouldn't get thick, just tall.
 
Many people have found that pulling back training on smaller muscle groups returns better gains then the alternative.
