well i'm not really sure about this but my grandma sent me an email saying to go to this site to register my cell phone. I guess cell phone numbers will now be released to companies allowing them to contact you and harass you about buying stuff. I don't know if there's any truth to it but here it is.

Definitely sign up for this (home phones and cell phones as well).

If you fill out survery forms, web sites, and things like that - and use your cell phone as your contact info - it's very likely that the number got added to a call-out list and can be distributed to other companies.

Registering on the Do Not Call list pretty much eliminated all of those annoying telemarketing calls at home and on my cell.
