Im trying to bring my bf down to single digits. I am upping my veg intake and notice that 3oz serving of peeled carrots contain 8g carb 5g sugars. Will eating carrots be counteractive to my bf goals?
You need an energy (calorie) deficit to lose fat so theoretically speaking yes carrots (or any food with positive net calories) will be counterproductive. Practically speaking the 34kcals you get from 3 oz will be negligible.
Cheeseburgers would be counterproductive to your bf goals. Carrots probably aren't. If you're competing maybe thats a different story, but carrots aren't bad. Green veggies are the way to go though as far as macros go. Lower sugars, less cals, more filling. But like the post above said, just watch your macros and make sure your cals in vs cals out are where you're aiming for and you'll start to see results.
