Carb cycling question

On low carb days do I count net carbs or fiber also? I want to eat some lentils that are 20g of carbs but have 10g of fiber, do I count it as 10g of carbs or 20g?

You're going to get different responses. I just look at my overall carb intake personally. Choose a method and stick to it.

Another quick question, do you guys up your fat intake on the low carb days? I read an article on bodybuilding.com and the guy suggested to not up fat intake as it could interfere with fat burning.

Interesting, thing is, I used the calculator and got that my bmr is 4,000 calories a day. Sounds a little high in my opinion, also, 206g of carbs on a low carb day? That doesn't sound low carb to me..

Another question for you guys, if I eat 14,000 calories a week that puts me at losing 1lb a week. When carb cycling should I follow this same ordeal? For example, I would eat 1,800 calories 5 days a week, and then on high carb days I would bump my calories up to maintenance at 2,500. This is not including my activity though, (Lifting 3 x a week, Hiit 3-4 x a week, steady state after hiit and one more time on a rest day) would I be alright to bump my low carb days up to 2,000 calories for 5 days and 2,500 calories on my two carb days while still maintaining the 1lb a week (it will bump me up to 15,000 calories weekly)? I have recently hit a plateau and resorted to carb/calorie cycling to bust through the plateau. I'm fairly lean at this point and just looking to drop that last 10 or so pounds.

Recalculated my calories needed to lose 1lb a week and multiple sources are telling me to be in a 500 caloric deficit, I need to eat 2,500 calories a day. Sounds really high, I'm: 6 feet tall, 175lbs, 16 years old

Thanks for thatarticle, pretty cool . I always just do 2 low carb days under 100g and 1 high carb day, repeat. Keep it simple. Any diet works as long as your in a deficit you'll lose fat.

The thing with calculators are that there are many variables. I personally would take 1-2 weeks and eat at a set amount of cals and see how the scale changes then adjust from there. Also, in terms of high carb or low carb fom the article I posted, you can manipulate the ratios. Keep in mind, the person writing the article is more than likely enhanced.

This is exactly right. Even clinical equations used are 85-90% accurate. It will all come down to trial and error. Just be consistent and track changes.

Exactly this. I'm all for clinical studies, but field testing for yourself is how you figure stuff out, what works and what takes a walk.
