can you get big without training legs?

it depends on what your opinion of "Big" really is. If you think big is 200 lbs then sure, you could ditch legs and still get there. To me, the term "big" means around 250 lbs and lean, I'd say nope, you aint getting there without some leg work. The legs is the largest muscle group of ur body, training them stimulates growth everywhere and helps your body to release more chemicals to grow and send signals elsewhere

Many people at my gym have been asking me this....i have my answer, but i am curious to what the AM world thinks. might i add, getting big naturally.....without juice.

Guess it just depends on the inparticular person, you want big legs, or small? I personally dont like having big legs so i work mine to a minimum. Just like em' ripped.

people, remember that I TRAIN LEGS so dont jump all over me for this. people at my gym who are a solid size dont lift legs and they see me doing squats and deads and ask me why i do them

Guess that just goes to show how different opinions can be, because to me and the majority it seems squats and deads are essential to any program, and yet there are people who don't give a second thought about doing them. To each his own.

Think of it like this, imagine what they could be if they did train legs...to bad they are just cutting themselves short of their true potential.

I hardly ever train legs. I run everyday and play sports at least 6 days a week. Whenever I work legs, I'm out of commission for at least 2-3 days, so I avoid it, and it works for me.

Personal preference mostly, or is it.

Many people give their legs a weak workout at best or skip over them completely in favor of training their arms or chest more. This is a costly mistake to make. Not only does training legs help pack on lean mass it also helps keep of fat. When you do a heavy, intense leg workout your growth hormone spikes.

Thus creating an anabolic environment, which equals muscle growth throughout your whole body. Because you can add several pounds of muscle to your legs, this will help you keep weight off. Muscle mass takes calories to maintain, so the more muscle you have the more calories you burn, therefore keeping fat off.

As if those are not two good enough reasons to take leg training seriously, one of the biggest eye sores I can think of is an unbalanced physique. You know what I'm talking about, one with a huge upper body but tiny chicken legs

i agree with most of the "pro leg" comments. but, unfortunately, I have a medical condition that keeps me from training them. we installed a pool this summer, and i've been trying to work my legs in it. although, i'm not sure pool training will help "add" muscle. i wonder if you can buy weighted vests for pools? i'll have to check on that..........but it sounds really unsafe. lol.

can you get big without training legs?

OF COURSE YOU CAN

There's some real scary misguided azzz bro-logic on here. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ask any bodybuilder paralyzed from the waist down.

Anecdotally, who doesn't have a meathead friend of two that isnt STACKED with chicken legs.

Come on people.

Now...Can you get your BIGGEST and hit your max upper body potential w/o doing legs? NO

I agree with what you say to a degree but those friends with a STACKED upper body and scrawny legs usually are stacked with steds

Your bottom and last statement is 100% correct. Legs is a must all professional bodybuilders train them for two reasons maximum growth and to be proportional simple

My guess is these guys dont train legs too often.............
