Forskolin is a vasolidator and could effect blood pressure. You will need to check with a supplement friendly doctor.

Forskolin is definitely know for causing vasodilation (dilation of the blood vessels),causing transient drops in BP....

This, combined with your BP meds could cause a hypotensive state...I would advise to start with the minimum dosage of 1-2 pills per day for a few days, assess things, and add a pill per day if everything is fine.

Also, as stated above, I would speak to a doc about the combination in question. You may even want to be
proactive and print out some literature about Forskolin and take it to him/her. The doc will definitely err on the side of caution and recommend the afforementioned protocol. After all, they are mostly postulating, as opposed to basing their answer on case study. good luck!

I appreciate the replys, I am really going to have to start some serious cardio and see if that will bring down my B.P. naturally, I hate having to ck. every supplement now to see if I can take it..........

My BP ran boderline high for a while, (what the doctor termed pre-hypertensive), and the doc suggested the possibility of meds. Consequently, I decided to pursue natural alternatives and have had great success. I use Fish oil 2gms EPA/DHA, Hawthorn extract and Forskolin (cAMP) everyday. I bought a BP gauge and my readings have come down to well within normal parameters over the last 6mths. I have also effectively removed alcohol from my diet. I have actually removed the Hawthorn while taking forskolin, with concern that it may effect a HYPOtensive state....Quite a turnaround.

I don't know the severity or causes of your condition, so this may not be a viable option for you to try. Just thought I would suggest an alternative all the same...It worked for me. good luck

Sandman, how long before it came down to normal ranges, I am adopted and my doc. says my diet and exercise is not the issue, he said I am fighting genetics, I have some cAMP on the way, where did u order your fish oil???

I saw initial improvements starting at about 30 days, with incremental improvement over the last six months into a "consistant" normal range. My BP would typically spike (pretty high) during weight lifting and exercise in general, which was a primary concern to the doc. However, I now make a point to take a reading immediately following weight training (usually every third workout) and haven't had any problems in months. This is despite the typical job and life stressors remaining static.

I would suggest reading up on hawthorn and celery seed. Hawthorn is a little more slow acting with results typically being realized at about the 30-90 day point. It's my understanding that Celery Seed is a little more "fast-acting".

BTW, I'm very fit relatively speaking, so my condition was a complete head-scratcher to the doc as well....My understanding is that the predominant number of high BP cases are inexplicable and genetic related.

I use Health from the Sun fish oil (liquid). It is very cost effective with a HIGH concentration of EPA/DHA...I purchase from iherb.com (Great service and no shipping costs on orders over $20). Although, you can get it at most on-line supplement retailers. The taste is fantastic for fish oil (orange). Absolutely NO fishy taste/after-taste. The pills used to drive me crazy with fish burps...nasty. Hope that helps!

Sandman, what was your bp before u started any form of control, and what was it post workout, just curious, I have never taken mine post workout, before I got on meds mine was around 144/86, now 128/74

I think that it usually hovered in the upper 130's to low140's, over 80-90...This was typically
the average throughout the day, since it fluctuates depending on activity, situtations, etc...

I went and had a stress test done because my condition was also associated with PVC's (premature ventricular
contractions), which are benign in healthy hearts. Long story short, my BP got up to 170/95 during the
"stress" test. This, of course, elicited concern from the doctor. He postulated that my premature beats were
possibly induced by the spike in BP during exercise. Following, I did some research on my own and discovered
that fish oil has been shown (in scientific studies) to significantly reduce PVC's and help to lower BP.

Since starting the afforementioned supplement protocol, I very rarely have any PVC's and, of course, the BP is
normal...usually 120 or lower, over 70ish.

Thanks, DT...Although the Pharmaceutical companies would want us to
believe otherwise, I've learned that there are MANY healthy alternatives to
prescription meds (which simply mask the condition, not cure it)....That's a
whole different rant.... cheers
