Calves

Well from my experience, I've found people try using so much weight they can't properly contract there calf at the top of the movement. Also when you see a bodybuilder posing his calves is he straight legged? No he's not! he bends his knees in some so he can get a 100% contraction of the calf. That primarily only works on standing calf raises not seated. And don't bounce the weight up, use your muscles to lift and squeeze as hard as to can at the top. Try it every day 100 reps 5x a week ,

As a female, I've been trying to hit mine twice a week, with all angles included. I have the muscle just not the definition

I have huge hamms and quads but my calves are so small it makes me look like i don't train legs at all!!! I'll try these things thanks!

Maybe try calf training 2-3 times a week, alternating from high rep/low weight to low rep high weight. Change is Key!

I definitely don't have the best calf mass either but i've turned my little non existent calves into some pretty shredded, moderately sized calves! lol. Vascular as F- might I add. I'll have to post a good calf pic soon.

OP, how tall are you? I know some tall dudes that have big calves, but they are so tall that they look small. If that's the case, not much ya can do about that.

6' isn't going to make a difference in looks, but balance and proportion to everything else will. There really isn't any secret outside of a lot of hard work and pain. A good calf workout can make you tear up. I've grown mine from puny 15.5" to 18" over the years and it hasn't been easy.

I train them 2 days a week directly and then 2 indirectly with sled and hill sprinting.

4 x 15 standing, alternating toe in and duck stance for each set
4 x 10 seated. I go heavy seated- usually 6 plates.
4 x 15 horizontal, or you can use a leg press. I do this for the stretch.

I disagree. I've seen many guys 6' and over with this issue. Their calves will measure over 17-18", but the muscle belly to lower leg length ratio is just too off in order to "look" big. Meanwhile at 5'7", my calves measure around 15-16 and they look huge because they just take up more real estate down there. Everyone is different tho

This is how they look, I hit them hard once a week but dead lifting and squats hit them too right? I run about 4miles to the gun and back maybe I am burning them off

Yeah, you are hitting them with deads and squats. Our calves are constantly being worked even as we go through our day and that is why you really need to blast them to get them to respond to growth.
