Caloric Content of Human Tissue

Really Really Good Looking
I was going over my macro breakdown trying to determine how many cals. I'm taking in per day. So naturally all I had to do was add up my macro's and do the proper multiplication. Protein and Carbs 1g = 4 kcals, Fat 1g = 9 kcals. So here's what I'm thinking, it is said that 1 lb of Fat = 3,500 kcals. Here the question is human fat tissure different than that of animals. Because my math is showing that 28 grams per Ounce, 16 ounces per pound equals 448g per pound. Multiply that by 9 and you get 4,032! Also the same thing goes for protein, one pound of lean muscle would then be 1792 kcals. So by these calculations you wold have to obtain a deficit of 4032 kcals to lose one pound of fat. Anyone know what the deal with this is??

LOL! I knew someone would read the title and be like WTF is wrong with this guy! By the way eating human flesh is supposed to give you increadible strength but also an isatiable hunger for more. At least thats what's in the movie Ravenous (sick movie for those movie lovers out there)

I would only eat those in puberty for the extra growth hormones and tenderness.

ps. sorry for mucking up your thread.. I'm not sure anyone will know an exact answer; but my guess is that "9 calories per gram" and "3500 per pound" are both approximations.

I think there's a big difference between the actual energy contained in flesh as opposed to the energy needed to maintain flesh. Your body isn't just sitting there like meat on a hook, it's alive and needs energy just to keep going, to run all biological processes which includes maintaining tissue.

Also, fat cells are made of more than just fat. One pound of literal fat would be 4086 calories, but one pound of adipose tissue is more than just absolutely fat.
