"Here is an example of the kind of issue that might turn Ohio into Florida.. Take a look at the absentee ballot ( Invalid Link Removed ) for Cuyahoga County, where Cleveland is located. Suppose you wanted to vote for George Bush. Which square would you fill in? If you picked the one I colored in green, congratulations, you just threw your vote away. The one in red is the correct choice to vote for George Bush. Blue is for Kerry. I guess that after losing her reelection bid, Palm Beach County, FL, elections supervisor Theresa LePore must have gotten a new job designing ballots in Ohio. I didn't think ballot design was rocket science. Shows you what I know."
 
I am not aware of how people construct these ballots but that makes no sense. :think:
 
I'd have to say that this ballot is pretty sketchy, even more so than the florida butterfly ballots.

At least the Florida butterfly ballot used some sort of reasoning, this is obviously flawed. How come Kerry/Edwards lines up perfectly? It doesn't make any sense at all.

As much as I'd like to blame some huge conspiracy after further research it seems that there are two dems and two repubs on the BOE for the county.

Just seems pretty stupid to design a ballot like that, at least the butterfly ballot was a "little" lined up better.
 
we should have a national standard on ballots. but getting good ballots to come out of congress might be hard too.
