BulkNutrition? Retail Supp company

Just wondering if you guys think
people who own Retail Supplement companies
like

Mike @ Bulk Nutrition.com

make good profit and can use that as their
regular day job? Just wondering?

My dad is really interested in starting one
and creating his own protein bars LOL
but wants to know what u guys think

thanks

i think he has around 70,000 customers registered on his site; so needless to say, it's his dayjob. he does very, very well but it's a hard business guessing trends and stocking certain items. now people like matt, and sledge, i have no idea. i think matt (custom) still has his dayjob. not sure about sledge.

I would not be surprised if Mike has fat pockets. But he has a singular rep for carrying interesting products, shipping almost instantly, and keeping costs low.

Definatly always great service from bulknutrition!
I'm sure if your dad's protein bars actually taste good, they'll sell.

Retail ain't that bad as long as you have a reputable house brand. I worked for the Vitamin Shoppe and we were making $75,000 a month in sales by the 4th month. You can also get a lot of work done with 1 or 2 employees as long they are responsible adults.

only thing is online I see hundreds of Retail Supplement Companies

But from what I hear, only BulkNutrition and BodyBuilding.com are the MAIN ones.
The business would have to have cheaper prices on some products, and some bad ass
shipping, and customer service.

I just browse online and see tons and tons of Online stores, it scares me lol

I thought you were opening up an online supplement company called I.N.O.N (In N Out Nutrition) last year? And, you were talking to Sheesh about selling his bars. Did that just not materialize?

Didnt materialize because I wasn't as ready as I thought I was. I didn't want to put my services online when I had any doubts whatsoever. Now I have matured, saved lots of money, gotten my father who is BIG on this stuff to partner with me, and my dad has gotten many partners to help. This is mainly my dads gig, Im letting him take care of all the orders, customer service ect., Im just there to tell him whats In and Out, help him beat competitors prices, keep track of all the bookkeeping and such.

Now Sheesh isnt making his bars anymore, and my father has wanted to do that ever since he made his own in the kitchen one time, now he wants to throw money at doing that as well.
