Bulking to Keto....

So I have been on this bulk for about 3.5 months and plan on bulking for a couple more months. My question is can you successfully transition from bulking and eating carbs everyday to ketosis and not have a significant loss of muscle. The reason for keto is to cut fat from the bulking.. Just looking for opinions, personal experiences and supplementation some have used. Or should I just keep lowering calories and increase cardiovascular tremendously until fat loss stop then switch over to keto diet?

I always do keto for prep, and never lose muscle. Keep your fats high, and you should be fine.

Bulking comes down to eating more calories than you are burning. It doesn’t matter if you follow keto or not. Some people can function on low carbs while others cannot. If you can function on low carbs, than go for it! However, carbs do have some benefits, I will post an article below. The best thing you can do is try it for yourself and see how you respond.

true I just know that I have done keto in the past and I seemed to always feel someone like death...lol during this bulk I incorpated a lot of carbs and my gym sessions have just been phenomenal and I am scared that if I go to keto that I will not have the intensity to keep my gains... I just know that keto cuts me up good....

Gave you thought about carb cycling?

Your intensity may die down for sure, but if your main goal is to lose fat, it’ll get the job done. Keto doesn’t agree with some people. I personally love it. I actually feel better, and have more energy on keto. My body likes to burn fat, and I respond well to it. But you don’t want to drain yourself to the point that you have zero energy to make it to the gym. You just have to try different methods and see what works best for you in terms of achieving your goal, while maintaining energy.

I did a true medical keto a while earlier this summer and I’d venture to guess I kept a sign I can’t amount of my muscle. I was trying to maintain though. Just adding cardio will do a significant amount of damage to those fat stores.

One approach a lot of people use is low carbs and hit cardio hard for the first two weeks of prep after coming out of a longer off season and see very minimal if any muscle lose and allows as kind of a “reset” to insulin sensitivity then allowing them to add some carbs back in and reduce cardio a bit and still burn a good deal of fat.

I started prep without cardio then went hard for 4 weeks with it and slowly cutting carbs then got to the point where I didn’t do cardio for like 5 weeks and kept getting leaner with no changes in diet

If you enjoy carbs and feel that they improve your workout intensity then I would consider setting up a carb cycling diet. I've done keto several times in the past and I've had great success with it from a fat loss perspective. But I did notice a decrease in gym performance due to the absence of glycogen. I was able to maintain muscle, but I didn't feel as good while doing keto compared to a carb cycling approach.
