Buffet Spoons

Question:

Anyone know the approximate serving size of a large buffet spoon?

Like the ones used at all-you-can eat places?

For something like rice specifically, but also for corn or other items

Two spoons of rice is about 1/2 cup is what I'm guessing. I have no real accurate way to measure it

They likely vary between restaurants. If portioning your food is important to you is being a measuring cup when you go. I doubt a large spoon yields only a 1/4c rice.

Yeah, better to be on the low side than the high side

A big serving spoon amounts to 1 cup.

That can be over or under on how you scoop.
Scoop a healthy scoop but not a mountain and you'll be pretty well on par with 1cup
