What numbers are the most important in regards to testosterone.

I just turned 53 and my Testosterone came back at 363 ng (Standard>280)

Free Testosterone was 256(>200pmol/l standard)

Bioavailability was 169 (>130ng/dl standard)

All my numbers are in the normal range although on the lower end.
I was just looking for confirmation.
My doctor says the numbers are good
but I know several friends with higher numbers jumped on TRT.
Anyone on TRT care to offer up an opinion.
I definitely feel like I have most if not all of the symptoms of low T.
I am not sure what my next steps should be.
I set up an appointment with an endocrinologist and will see what he says.
Any experience with this would be helpful
Thanks
Kevin

Are your numbers good? Absolutely not. There not completely trashed but they are far, far lower then I or most ppl would be happy with.

The problem is that most regular Doctors have no clue on the subject, if you are in the reference range with a 300 your "ok" and it doesn't matter if you're 28 or 82.

If I were you I would go see a endocrinologist. Most of them are more up to date and will know better.

With all that being said, how do you feel?

If you feel good and everything is working fine you might not want to mess with it. You got to look at it from all angles

I will see an endocrinologist and go from there.
As I mentioned I feel like I have all the sympathy of low T.

Weight Gain
Low libido
Low energy
Strength seems stagnant

Hoping to get some answers other than it’s all age related.

Thanks again
Kevin

It is age related, but a good Endo or Dr. Who is up to date should be willing to work with you.

Doc probably used the word "good" when compared to others at your age.

I agree that speaking to an endo is going to be your best bet here. Being in range is fine, but if you're not feeling good then they can help remediate that
