Blood Work Opinions

Hello everyone. Just got some blood test results back. Back in December 2020 I had it drawn and had a test level of 228 ng/dL having blood drawn at around 6-630 PM. Unfortunately the bonehead doc I dealt with only ran tests on this and no other hormones, talk about incompetent. This time I had it drawn at 3 PM and the doctor in dealing with is an veteran who used steroids when he served and seems to know his stuff in regards to this. Here’s where I’m at right now. Haven’t cycled anything in over 6 months, and my low T “symptoms” aren’t really that bad. I have my days. Anyways here are my results:

Testosterone, Total, MS
Testosterone, Free
344 ng/dL
58.8 pg/mL
Estradiol. 25.1 pg/mL
Progesterone 0.43 ng/mL
LH 1.65 mIU/mL
FSH 1.97 mIU/mL

I don’t think these numbers are too worrying, especially based on how I feel at these numbers, but on the same token I haven’t been myself for a while now, and I definitely feel like this may have something to do with it. Unfortunately I started using steroids at a dumb age, and do not have a benchmark test level to go off of for myself personally. Regardless for a 27 year old male these numbers are far from normal and I don’t like the fact LH/FSH are borderline out of range. No bueno.
The doctor managing this for me is thinking clomid therapy and potentially a few HCG injections. I feel like I’m he HCG is totally unnecessary considering the numbers. Any input would be great. I’m eager to see if this HPTA restart will actually work and stick over the years or if I should say **** it and hop on TRT. If I do this I probably won’t cycle anything for years until I’m a bit older, however if I do have to take the TRT route it only works in my favor in that regard. Would love to hear from those who have been though this.

When you reach 3 months after a pct or even no pct and your levels aren't at least around 450 to 500 that's not good. And that's not typical either

Yeah that’s what I figured. My only concern is his strategy will be a waste of time. Really hope the clomid therapy is worth it. Really the only symptoms I’ve had for a few years now have been awful recovery and an increase in minor injuries in the gym, and some depression/fatigue. I also don’t have the sex drive a 27 year old male should have. My hopes are that once I eventually come off the clomid my test levels don’t slowly start to slip away again. In my opinion, that seems like kind of a stretch, but every doctor I’ve spoken to seems to think that won’t be the case. Appreciate the input for sure.

Im 27 as well bro. Got on trt at age 26 when my test came back at 388. My doc gave me a script for 200mg a week which puts me at 950. No regrets here. And this was after proper pct and time off between test cycles

Everyone on a steroid forum that has been in your situation and still posting here is still cycling occasionally, so they all chose the pin. This is a poor way to ask for advice as to whether you want to blast/cruise with doctor supervised TRT or if you should stop cycling anabolics - you know this has to be a personal decision.

If you are fine not training enhanced, try the restart. If you are going to sling a bunch of gear in 2-3 months, you will of course be wasting your time.

I wasn’t really asking for advice on the decision between TRT or a restart, rather if I need either in the first place based on my blood work and the circumstances. Every man is different.

Kinda also wanted to see if anyone out there has ever attempted a restart as well and what the outcomes were. Those kinds of things will help guide my personal decision further.

Doctors in America may not prescribe test unless your total falls below 300ng/dl, but some out of pocket clinics will. But numbers alone are a terrible way to decide if you need longterm testosterone replacement yet - the question is, how do you FEEL? Do you have the basic (not pornstar) sexual performance you expect/desire? Energy, general mood/disposition/drive, recovery assuming diet and sleep are decent? These are the symptoms you need to be looking at.

YOU need to be responsible about judging your circumstances (intent to cycle or not, goals, etc). The fact you are so unsure makes me think you need to consider this longer before making any decisions.

Of course they have. I believe @BBiceps went on Clomid successfully after TRT for some years to have children - maybe he can add his anecdote.

Yes, if OP is unsure of TRT, Clomid is a good alternative to try first. I heard some ppl talk about side effects but I never had any and I always felt great on it.

I would not use the HCG and just do 25mg Clomid ed for 8 weeks and then retest to see where your numbers are at and how you feel.

What was the Range for Free Test, on this particular test?
(Apologies if you already answered).

The range for this test was 35-155 pg/mL. So that’s not out of range but it’s on the low side. Still waiting on SHBG as well, my doctors office is a **** show need to get a new doctor haha.
