Blood pressure meds and Prosteroids?

I am currently taking Lisinopril-HCTZ and was wondering if there would be any harmful interactions if it were taken with an anabolic supplements such as D-zine epi or proto max? Any feedback or experience with this would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't think it would hurt. In fact it may help keep your bp normalized or at least lower than it would be on a cycle without it. Still though people are gonna recommend against a cycle if your on bp medicine even though they have not researched the medicine and how it works. Just google you medicine and find out how it works. Then research how the designer steroid you are going to use works. Googling will help you much much more than any type of advice you will get here. Anything you read here take with a grain of salt. It is all basically speculation and opinion.

being that limited testing on the steroids on the market was done, i doubt any of those test included androgen & bp medicine interactions.

so basically you are going in blind and no one can really answer what possible adverse drug interactions you may experience.

but on another note, i dont think people with cardiovascular issues such as high blood pressure should be using steroids to begin with, at least, not without supervision from your doctor
(who also wont know the possible drug interactions of bp med & forgotten steroids)

Both lisinopril and HCTZ are diuretics (HCTZ moreso) which lowers your blood pressure by helping you pee off fluid (HCTZ blocks distal collecting duct water permeability while lisinopril decreases aldosterone production by blocking ACE). In short, I can think of worse antihypertensive medications to take with PH's (b-blockers, calcium channel blockers). That said, be careful, especially if you have any heart issues or it runs in the family.

Almost all bottles say not to use if you have high blood pressure. Go ask a pharmacist. Some are really helpful when it comes to interactions.

You'll have to read up on it but if i remember correctly Lisinopril puts some stress on the liver, not something you want when running orals. In my experience there are other BP meds that work better and arent hard on the liver.

Yeah, youre right. I always forget that the ace-i's arent in the k+ sparing diuretics. Id still be more concerned if it were a drug with direct ionotropic or chronotropic effects.

cant help direct but im on moexipril(univasc) for bp and also on trt and have been known to blast here and there with no issues. moexipril is an ace inhibitor btw

I remember a doctor telling me something about it when he was going to put me on it. I just now read some stuff about it and it doesn't seem like it's a major issue for a healthy person but people have reported elevated liver enzymes in their bloodwork with Lisinopril being the only change in diet and meds.

Got this off of EMEDTV.com, "For those taking lisinopril, there are several potential problems that may occur; liver failure is one of them. In clinical studies, ACE inhibitors, including lisinopril, have rarely been known to cause this problem. Make sure to contact your healthcare provider immediately if you notice:

•Nausea
•Tiredness
•Lethargy
•Itchy or yellowing skin
•Abdominal pain (stomach pain)
•Flu-like symptoms.

Elevated liver enzymes (found using a routine blood test) can also be a sign of liver problems due to lisinopril."

I have not seen that information anywhere else about this drug. Maybe in extremely rare cases but anything can cause liver problems in extremely rare cases, this is not however something anyone should worry about while taking this drug.
