Has anyone taken blackstone labs euphoria while on bupropion? Is it dangerous?
Excellent, thanks for your detailed response!I want to clarify that my reason for saying that I wouldn't take it with that medication doesn't have anything to do with serotonin.
I love phenethylamine for a mood boost, but I won't take it unless I know the exact dose I'm getting.
With Euphoria being prop blended, you don't know the total dosage that you're getting of which ingredients.
Prop blends are supposed to be listed from most to least, which in this case would be 2,100 mg. total of:
- Betaphenethylamine
- CDP Choline
- 5-HTP
- Cymbidium goeringi
- L-Theanine
- N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine
Best guess is that the product is majority Betaphenethylamine as its the ingredient in there that would give the benefits that that the product is marketed for and also create the side effects most commonly seen with it.
I'm not anti Phenethylamine at all, we make a product with the ingredient that sells very well for us - PEA-500 Xtreme contains 500 mg. per capsule of it. https://seriousnutritionsolutions.com/product/pea-500-xtreme/
The problem for people taking Bupropion is that it it is very chemically similar to Phenethylamine.
Here's a quick overview, and I want to note that I didn't have time to fact check the deep dive science on this:
Some sources tell you not to take them together and other sources will say that you can if you're careful - but there's no way to be careful and start out with a lower dosage with something that's a prop blend.
- Bupropion is chemically similar to phenethylamine, belonging to the class of substituted phenethylamines and substituted amphetamines, with a structure containing a phenyl ring joined to an amino group via a two-carbon sidechain. More specifically, bupropion is a substituted phenethylamine, specifically a substituted cathinone, structurally classified as 3-chloro-N-tert-butyl-β-keto-α-methylphenethylamine.
- Chemical Structure: Bupropion, an antidepressant, is classified as an aminoketone and a substituted cathinone, which are both derivatives of phenethylamine.
- Substituted Phenethylamine: Phenethylamine is a parent structure, and bupropion, along with other substances like amphetamine and cathinones, are considered substituted phenethylamines because they have modifications to the basic phenethylamine structure.
I hope this info helps.
Looking for something to replace alcohol in social situations. I’m also going to start weening off bupropion. I’m on it to help with seasonal depression.Good question, I know bupropion has minimal affect on seratonin and mainly affects noradrenaline and dopamine so the chance of getting seratonin syndrome is fairly low. But like someone said above, better safe than sorry. What are your goals with taking euphoria? I may be able to suggest a safer supplement that can achieve the same thing.
Have you tried vitamin d for seasonal depression? I don't know many alcohol alternatives sorry.Looking for something to replace alcohol in social situations. I’m also going to start weening off bupropion. I’m on it to help with seasonal depression.
Yeah I take vitamin D pretty heavily during the darker months but it doesn’t do the trick.Have you tried vitamin d for seasonal depression? I don't know many alcohol alternatives sorry.

I would definitely vouch for Mood Support XT. Kids, work, new house last year and Mood Support XT kept me saneI can never suggest anyone take any supplement with a prescription drug, but for seasonal depression, we've had a lot of good feedback on Mood Support XT.
It definitely has helped me a lot. The last 6 months is probably the most stressful period I've ever been through and it has helped me a lot. It was one of those things where I knew it was helping but didn't realize how much until I tried taking some time off just to gauge it - bad idea; it was helping more than I even thought it was.
The write up is pretty detailed on the ingredients and how it works. Here's a link for you or anyone that may bee interested in reading more about it: https://seriousnutritionsolutions.com/product/mood-support-xt/
