Bitter gourd(Momordica charantia) is a vegetable found in tropical climates. It has anti-diabetic properties such as charantin, vicine, and polypeptide-p, as well as potent antioxidant effects. It has been shown in studies (mostly on rats) to improve insulin sensitivity, glucose tolerance, and insulin signaling.
