Beta Alanine Competition

I wanted to mix beta alanine and taurine into my pre workout because of the benefits I get from them during exercise.
Can 3g beta alanine and 2g taurine be taken pre workout or should they be separated since they compete on the same pathway?
Also, I was looking into BAIBA, will this also compete with beta alanine and taurine? They are all very similar in structure.

Some say its a myth(competing for the same receptors), some accept it. Very curious to see what people with knowledge have to say

OP, good read:

...but it would seem that MrC's post sums it up:

Taurine depletion is not a realistic concern at the doses of BA we use, bt I recommend cycling all supplements. I personally do 3 months on, 1 month off.

Lower your BA dose on workout days to 3.2g. Also, take the taurine preworkout and distance the BA as far from that as possible.

I haven't really seen this question asked directly but from what it looks like I guess you should try to give some time inbetween taking the two. You could try it both ways and see what works for you.

I've used both together for a few months and feel it benefits me

As BA works off saturation and there's no real need to dose pre workout, dose the BA away from the taurine which ideally you want to use pre workout. Simple as that. I've long used BA and taurine together with no issues and taurine is definitely one of the un-sung heroes of my training. Living in hot climate i really depend on the circulation benefits.

If you want both, you could take taurine pre-workout (as it has some acute benefits) and beta alanine some other time, perhaps in the morning if you workout in the afternoon/evening, or the afternoon if you workout in the morning. If you don't want tingles any time besides pre-workout, you could always take the beta alanine with food or split the dose.

Very good recommendation right here. OP, serious nutrition solutions makes a very cost effective bulk BA and Taurine. You can adjust each serving based on your specific goals.

i would personally dose ba pre and taurine post. I find that taurine has a cns sedative type effect on me.

Literally makes no difference when you dose BA. When it saturates the system you're good to go. I take my BA at night and my intra workout has taurine in it. I use SNS BA

You should be dosing BA with carbs anyway.
