This recipe Is half my own and half from one I learned years ago. It's healthy and addictive and hard to limit to one bowl. I love it and make it alot so I thought I'd share.
You'll need:
3lbs lean ground turkey
2 green peppers seeded a chopped
1 onion chopped
5 cloves of garlic chopped
1 habanero pepper chopped fine
2 cans kidney beans (I do dark/light red for color)
2 cans no salt added diced tomatoes
1 8 oz can no salt added tomato sauce
1 small can diced green chiles
2 tblsp chili powder
1 tblsp paprika
1 tblsp ground cummin
1 1/2 teaspoon season salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon liquid smoke
1 Hershey's special dark regular size chocolate bar
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 can cheap beer
Sauté green pepper, onion, garlic and habenero till onions become translucent.
In seperate pan brown turkey then combine everything in large pot along with all other ingredients. Mix very well and cook on medium - med/low heat (depending on oven top) for 1- 1 1/2 hours stirring every 10 minutes or less if you can. Just be careful not to burn the bottom cus it'll fudge up the flavor big time. If you do this all correct i promise you'll love it or you can neg me and have me booted off here.
