Hello everyone! I have a question regarding what stack would you recommend a 22 year old with a hypothetical budget of $150.

Here is a background. I have been training pretty hard since high school. I am 5ft 8in, 190 lbs, my body fat 13-15%. I am running MadCows stronglifts 5 x 5.

My goals are to increase my strength. I don't mind putting on a couple pounds! The only supplements I am currently on are creatine, fish oil, and vitamin D!

Thanks a lot!

Absolutely nothing and eat plenty my man. 6 meals a day, lots of protein and veggies. I guarantee you will grow. Add a protein shake or 2 a day and sleep.

At your age, you can gain like crazy as you are producing a hell of a lot more test than us older guys and messing with that and shutting yourself down wouldn't be the best idea.

I wish you all the best mate, I know u probably will do it anyway, but I can almost guarantee that u ain't eating anything like enough.

????????

1) Diet.. Don't look at adding any more supplements until you tell us what your eating, and how much. It does not matter what pills or powders you add to your stack you will not grow if the caloric surplus is there.

Are you currently gaining weight? What does a typical day of eating look like? How many calories are you eating. That needs to be addressed first.

2) Creatine, Fishoil, and Vitamin D are a great starting stack the only 2 things I would add (ONCE DIET IS IN CHECK) is:
Multi Vitamin - OL Orange Triad,
Whey Protein - Man Sports, Cellucor, Scivation (dirt cheap at Nutraplanet), USP Labs Modern Protein, MTS, PES Select

If your eating right, trianing on that program hard, and these will be all you need to grow. The basic principle KISS (Keep it simple stupid) applies here.
Nothing trumps a good amount of food and proper training!

Philosophies, Macro intake, training , and cardio articles for you to understand and help set up what you need to do before moving forward towards more supplements or advanced workout routines.

For a natural anabolic it doesnt get any better than X gels! Take a look into it, I think EpiPlex which gives you a full dose of epicatechin will also serve you well. As others above have mentioned, make sure your diet is in check for your goals or no matter what you buy its going to be a waste.

190 lbs. at 5"8, 14% is not bad at all, how is your gym routine looking, have you still been making progress?

I don't think you need to go spending $150 on supplements, as the others here said diet is #1.

But this is a board full of believers in supplementation, let's point you towards a good next step

Sounds like your main goal is performance? Get stronger and you are not worried about gaining weight.

So step one is a diet in a slight calorie surplus, IMO. Aim to gain weight slowly and a higher proportion will be lean mass as long as your training is to par.

For a supplement, take a look into PEScience Ergonine. It is 9 Ergogens (ingredients shown to enhance athletic performance) at their respective studied doses in one scoop per day taken any time just like creatine. It has secondary benefits for gaining lean mass, fat loss (but unlikely to happen on a surplus), better recovery, and more.

It would cover your daily creatine for you so you could stop purchasing that separately, and would pair it with TMG (betaine anhydrous) which is a potent methyl donor, increasing your body's natural production of creatine as well.

Check it out at pretty much any of the board sponsor retailers on here

Agreed with this. With a good diet and some natty products at 22 you will gain like crazy! I like X gels, Anabeta elite, and triumph.

If your diet and training are where they should be, something non-hormonal like SNS X-Gels would treat you very well. Lots of people on this board have had great success provided diet, training, and rest/recovery are where they should be.

First of all, I wouldn't go and spend your entire budget all at once, and instead I'd pick up one supplement at a time so I could assess how that worked in isolation before adding in a second. That way you'll know what to buy again and what's a waste of money.

I'm assuming your diet is already on track.

I would pick up something like Tr1umph. That's a daily staple type supplement that covers several ingredients for strength, performance, and body composition. For strength specifically, since you mentioned that as your goal, it contains creatine, betaine, alpha-GPC, and phosphatidic acid.

Assuming you have food covered:

Tr1umph or Ergonine as a daily staple
PA from FEARN Soy Lecithin Granules
A decent pre workout.

Then depending on what else you're after:

SNS IP6 - 200g is around $13. Dose at 2-4g for Insulin sensitizing effects. Using this regularly at a higher dose, and loving it so far

Should about cover it
