is clinton portis even a top 15 runningback anymore...

Ummm, lemme check...he's number 14 with 553 yards at 4.4 YPC.

and No touchdowns, except in the San Fran game... He's out of my top 15 list. Ladell Betts is better in the Gibbs 1980 system.

Portis is too busy dressing up in stupid costumes and sounding like an idiot in interviews to worry about his running skills.

Yea, The Broncos are the best running team season after season, whoever was making this poll didn't have their thinking cap on.

They are definately the best running TEAM.

I'm going to throw this out there... it isn't the 'best' running 'game' but it may be the most valuable to his team. Thomas Jones of the Chicago Bears. Doesn't get the TDs or Yardage the other backs do but he can carry it 25-30 times a game and control that clock very effectively.

Drafted him in all my fantasy leagues, I'm a sage

yeah thomas jones is a durable back i think that his off the field antics are what get him.

HOW ABOUT CADILLIAC!! another solid game last sunday, looks like hes going to do well!!!

GO BUCS!!!!

Well if you want to look at it another way... The Edge is having the best season so far... I dont care about how versatile LT is... he's a DAMN good player and one of the best in the league (top 3 easily).

But the Edge is still having a much better season. The reason most people dont know is because of ignorance... they listen to everything they hear from sportscenter (which most of those guys dont watch most of the games)... but look at the numbers and watch the games.

The Edge had over 100 yards rushing against the Steelers; who havent allowed a 100 yard rusher in 23 games.

He's right behind Alexander with 1240 yards rushing to Alexander's 1339. Seattle is a RUNNING team... I think you can agree that Indy is not :) Indy has the best passing game in the NFL and arguably in NFL history.

His Avg gain is 4.6 per carry; 0.1 yards behind LT and has 112.7 per game to LT's 98.7.

Lt is a versatile player, but he's not better than Jim Brown, I dont care what Schottenheimer says; and he's not the best RB in the NFL :) He is one of the best PLAYERS in the NFL; I think he's a better player thanThe Edge, but for this season at least, he's not a better RB.

Edge is having an awsome year and he's one of the best no doubt.....but lets be honest here.....if you look at his stats...yeah his rushing yards and td's are up....but he is taking a huge decline on his receptions and receciving yards this year...LT is also million times faster and swifter then Edge...Imagine Tomlinson on the Colts would be some record setting numbers end of story...LT is the best back in Football period.

LT on the Colts would be amazing - James on the chargers probably wouldn't be as good.

way back when, james caught more passes. after the injury he runs very differently, much like warrick dunn but less reckless and less north-south sprinting. James never takes a big hit and he leads the league on 1st down runs between 5 and 9 yards - by far.

James has learned to be more patient when running behind blocks. Kind of like emmitt smith did with dallas, didnt have blazing speed just made the right decisions.

LT is OVERRRR RAAAAATED!

No way he is basically the whole offense of that team the guy wins games by himself. I would not go as far as to agree with san diegos caoch in saying he is the best ever, but when it all said and done he will be at least in the top 5 backs of all time.

its not all about the stats, lets just look at the most EFFECTIVE running game of the year and id have to say that the Steelers (along with seattle) have it.

it is beyond me why denver is not up on this poll !! they had two 1000 yard rushers last year wtf. denver runs over everyone b*tches

You heard him *****es:woohoo:

Denvers a solid team when it comes to Rushing for sure....but sorry Bro no one last year even came close to stepping up to Larry Johnson aka the next Jim Brown

Larry Johnson is very talented, but by law i am not aloud to give credit to any division rivalries, Larry Johnson licks balls, the combo of tadem bell and Ron Dane will crush and devour lj any day.

Ron Dayne lol......Did u just say Ron Dayne lol....I must be trippen bro I thought for a second u said Ron Dayne lol

If Ron Dayne puts up any sort of #'s which I doubt he will since it will be the Tatum Bell show....It's only cuz hes a product of the System...Denver hasnt had a real talent at the RB position since trading Mr Portis

The bar is set really high because of Portis (and Terrell Davis). Mike Anderson was good but got chased away. Quentin Griffin was a bit small. Bell will be good. I really wanted LenDale White to end up in Denver. The Cutler pick made sense though

I agree it would have been interesting to see White in Denver, but as we have learned over the past years. If you have legs, you break 1000 yards in Denver. So I will never question their running game. And I thought Cutler was the best QB in the draft ever since I saw him play Mid Tenn St. in the 5th game of his senior year. They lost but damn was he good, and then again agianst UF, LSU and Tenn.

But I still have to say the best Running game could be the Chiefs, only if Holmes is healthy. Otherwise I go with San Diego, LT is the best all around back IMO, Micheal Turner is a good backup(if you havnt seen him, he does well in place of LT, broke off that nasty run to beat Indy), and Sproles is just a quick back who could switch things up.
