See I am a stupid Irishman. I really do love that about HawaiiAn's, fvck the pvssy knives and guns crap, and just scrap. Just seems a lot of you fellas have very short tempers, and want to fight over small stuff. It's just a culture thing, to many mainlander's a fight has kind of a life or death vibe, but to Hawaiian's it's no big deal, ya.

just word of mouth by training partners. ya like i know a couple of people that fought there best friends because they didnt want to go to the beach or to the club, when i was in high school i did the whole kickboxing thing my rules was i didnt want to fight no one from my side of the island because most hawaiian are sore losers so if i kick the crap out of some one and saw them on the streets they would want to fight again, happend to my brother in law and i told him not to but he didnt listen.

For the record, you shouldn't be offended by a grammar comment. Grammar is like spelling: they are low order skills, which is to say they do not reveal anything about intelligence; they reveal how much time an individual has spent learning the systems. Some of the smartest people misuse grammar. William Faulkner won the Nobel Prize for literature, and his grammar was horrendous. Shakespeare was just as bad.

Those skills are important because they enable people to understand what you are saying. It's all about communication.

I'm really not kidding. I'm an English teacher. Many people won't write or they never get their ideas down b/c they're trying to figure out how to spell words, etc...Many smart people cut themselves short b/c they get so caught up in the little details that they lose the big idea. Revision is your friend.

Vika, Beo really is a nice guy, he's trying to help you. I, on the other hand am just trying to fvck with you as I know how you are and that you won't change. Beo is so right though, grammar is extremely important for communication, but doesn't mean jack as far as overall intelligence. Ben Franklin couldn't even write, ok, I made that part up.
 
heres the thing when im at work i can talk perfect english (english enough to do $6,000 in sales a week up here in vegas) so people can understand me but when im around hawiaian i can talk like my self real pidgin out, just when i type i got like a million things running through my brain that my fingers type on there own so i cant help it.

So Melvin is on the juice, or was? I think its believable based on Kendall's say and his build but its still not fact. There is no proof unless Kendall saw him shooting up and even then its still not fact as he could be full of **** but im gonna give him the benefiet of the doubt and say he's telling the truth. Whatever. I dont care who juices as long as they dont get caught who cares? It goes on all over the place in every sport so, its never gonna change.

Okay now we have a fellow hawaiian over here gettin all nuts and thats just the way he's gonna be. I apprieciate that nobody threw anything out there about us hawaiians that would make me offended. You see its the local life in hawaii, we just talk pidgin everyday so grammar is not a highly held skill to have, nobody really cares but we still understand each other. Now, i talk with poor grammar, Pidgin whatever but i picked up on english spelling and the likes really good so i can always type and talk with what people consider as "proper". I just change it up. If im talking to a bunch of haoles im not gonna go balls out pidgin on them because its just stupid, the communication gets lost because they cant understand so ill talk in a way they can understand. Its an adaptation.

Honestly i get nuts all the time for stupid ****, its usually a way i feel im being disrespected but i never have a problem when i have mutual respect with someone, my lines are easier to cross. I dont know if its because i was raised here most of my life or what but its how it is. You have to be tough here on Hawaii, its not all paradise all the time we have ghettos we have slums we have gangs and all that. Some guys just go around looking to scrap for no reason, just to scrap. Thats how it is. Look at the big name guys from hawaii they either got a rep for KO power or Iron chins (cabbage) there are alot of great fighters coming out of the islands, that im proud of. With all that **** i just said a good sense of humor is always a nice thing to have so you can take it easy and not get pissed all the time.

Any remember that old Surfer Reality show and what a Dique Sunny Garcia was, he pretty much walked around slapping people the whole show. I think it's hilarious how this thread went from best MMA fighter physiques to violent Hawaiians, hehe. My best friend is Hawaiian and he's definitely not a short tempered, violent guy. My two cents on Hawaiians are they're super kind, chill people who love to eat and surf and be friendly. That's been my experience with most islanders, even Somoans (even though even the nice ones scare me).

I think the issue with accusing fighters of juicing or not (because my buddies fight), is that they work so damn hard to attain what they have, skill wise, and when you're labeled as a juicer, it seems to take away from what they achieved through haaaaard work and discipline and people recognize the juice and not their talents through effort.

I'm a decently sized guy and people ask me if I juice, it's initially flattering, but then it's like, well "F" no, I worked damn hard to get to where I am for you to crutch my hard earned efforts on juice.

That's my two cents.

sunny lived about 3mins from where i live on the westside of oahu right in the heart of MAKAHA, he had an ol dbeat down house right across the street from the beach. funny stuff

well from what i know hes tryna go down to light weight and well i walk aroun at 190 and im a welterweight but we can always meet at a catch weight.HAHAHA
also i got some fights lined up for 08 in hawaii, (bout damm time i mean after 5 years of doing this **** you would think i would have been in it sooner but nopes) i wish i live on the big island to train with BJ, but i got some good stand up guys and JJ guys here, you ever heard of KALA Kolohe Hose, hes gonna fight Robbie Lawler for the icon belt but that ***** backed out for the 2nd TIME!!!!!!!!!!

Favorite BJ Penn fight, BJ Penn vs Takanori Gomi, on The Rock I think. Gomi was the Japanse Wonder Boy of Pride at the time and he got owned. Gomi's got legit ground skills too, but BJ dominated him pretty bad. I think he was on his back for like 80% of the fight. Great, great fight.

That was a great fight, but Gomi was young and had never fought in Pride. He had fought mostly in Shooto and maybe Superbrawl once or twice. If they fought again I think the same result would occur, just saying that was before Gomi's run in Pride.

Anyone remember that MTV True Life: I'm a Surfer? Their was a kid named Makua, he was a decent all around surfer, but this kid had big balls and could ride the monster waves with the best of em. I think he won some big prize for biggest wave ride. The kid had balls, but he had a ridiculous temper and was always ready to scrap.

Yeah, Lawler doesn't come across as the brightest bulb, but he is fearless. I've only seen one of Kolohe's fights, he is a banger. Lawler could beat him banging, but he would be smart to take Kolohe down and give him the ruthless pounding treatment. I think we can probably guess what Lawler will do though.

Boston supposedly has the largest Irish population outside of Ireland. I chose "Beowulf" after Seamus Heaney (Irish Nobel Prize Winner) translated a Gaelicized version of the Anglo-Saxon poem.

If you want to see a vicious sport, watch some Hurling. I don't know if it is played outside of Ireland, but it's nuts. It's like Lacrosse with less padding and a baseball bat.

I'm poser Irish, only 25% and me alcoholic Irish grandfather's family came over during the potato famine. Omaha, where I grew up, is pretty Irish too and I was raised to appreciate the Irish side of the family the most. I'm actually 50% Brit-thug which leaves me internally conflicted. :lol:

I was born here, but I've been there 10 times. Most of my family lives there. I love it over there, but the weather becomes too depressing, and the Irish approach party drugs with the same enthusiasm they bring to the pub. All of my cousins have friends who have died from suicide or drug related issues.

I thought the Irish population outside of Mass was pretty small. You guys should check out the History Channel's special, "Paddy Whacked". It is about Irish gangs in the U.S. Interesting stuff.
