OK, I just joined this forum. Let me tell you a little about myself and why I decided to come here. I'm about to turn 35 and have been working out my entire life more or less. I have a home gym that I've built over the last year that covers pretty much everything. After having kids I slacked for a few years, gained some pounds, etc.

At my peak weight I was maybe 245. Basic dieting, working out, and etc has got my weight down to 220. My target weight is 200. My upper body is well developed and I can already bench 300, probably higher but I don't try to push things so much right now. My workout is self improvised over the years (I've had some good trainers early on) -- it works and I get good results.

I've been to the doctor and have been diagnosed with slightly low testosterone levels. In the last couple of years this has impacted my libido but so far not my workout.

My goals are:
*) Weight control
*) Better shape
*) Long term cardio-vascular health
*) Joint health
*) I do a lot of cycling. Interested in improving my endurance there.

Not so much interested in body building. Just want to take my workout to the next level. Not looking to get huge, etc.

I want to do this right. I do not want to underdo it or overdo it. Still early in the research phase. Right now my first thoughts are to get started with a testosterone e cycle, do the PCT, get some blood work done and see how everything stacks up in terms of my overall health. From what I'm reading, injecting is the way to go so that's what I plan to do.

OK, my questions are:
*) for first cycle, I've heard test e is the way to go. Do you agree, and is there anything i should take with it to mitigate estrogen
*) My budget is about 50$/week max. Is this reasonable
*) Is there anything else that jumps out that I should read/learn about

start looking theres a million test boosters start finding good ones run it by us and we can help you stay safe and enjoy your results.

I think 500mgs of test for a 1st cycle is fine. You might need to keep a little nolvadex handy and a strong otc AI....but thats it. Your training, diet, and focus on life-cycle managment will do the rest. You seem to have a smart head on your shoulders. 3-4 months test e would be a good way to go....

There's also about a million test boosters that do little to nothing, which is a waste of time and money, at 35 I wouldn't waste my time with test boosters and personally have used a few test boosters and felt like it did nothing, YMMV.

To the OP,

500mg a test e a week is a great start. I'd have a AI on hand and also get a solid PCT, otherwise you will seriously screw yourself up.

$50 a week is doable. A whole cycle depending on where you get it would be >$50 week

Thanks for responses all. I'm gonna do this -- but I need to learn more about pct before I take the plunge. I also want to train for a month leading in to it. Gonna keep it to 12 wks first time out.

One last question: do I need to figure taking the AI right off the bat or just if/when issues pop up?
