Ballys: Anyone go there/ is it a good gym

I'm going back to school in the fall and I can't handle another year of the school gym. Theres a Ballys near me and I'm trying to decide whether I should join it.

if its the only one go for it. i personally wouldnt cuz im used to lifetime and nothin is better and cleaner. i went to the ballys by my house but i couldnt get used to it. its dirty, machines and weights are dirty and beat up, locker rooms are like high school and just not for me. but for the price, why not. if u got an xsport around u, i say go there. only juicers go to the one by my house, great connects
 
Train where ever you have to, take a tour of ballys, make sure they have a decent size free weight area, with a couple of benches, squat rack and a few decent machines(row, pulldown,legpress,etc). There is alot of "fluff" at many commercial gyms, dont get me wrong, from time to time its nice to have the sauna, steam room, indoor track, fancy, funky machines, but you may find your school gym actually has everything you need, and you can put the money towards food and supplements instead of ballys dues.
 
I like my ballys since it is convenient and right by me. It is clean here though, but that may be because I live in a wealthy neighborhood. Check it out and see how you like it, the personnel seem nicer than at other gyms. I have been at gold's etc. where the personnel are biased.
 
Yes it is a good gym..It has a very good reputation..Especially when it comes to hitting the weights..If cardio happens to be your thing you are sure to excel there as well!!
