Bad breath

Hi everyone!

Could being on an elimination diet cause someone to have bad breath, assuming that one's dental health is ok and that it's not about ketosis.

What other reasons for bad breath are there?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated :)

high protein diet bro.

Dental health may be ok, but do you floss daily?

100% agree.

On the other hand a lot bad breath IS related to some peoples personal dental care. And daily flossing is the simplest of the bad breathe remedy check list. :p

I'm assuming that the person does floss. I'm actually not asking this for me. I know it's the diet, because it started right after eliminating certain all grains, dairy and plants of the nightshade family. The person also upped the protein intake.

Having googled this, I found that acid (not meaning acidic for the body) foods could cause bad breath. Could it be eating too much sauerkraut?

Bad breath is a typical side effect when one is on a high protein diet. Especially if you are not taking in enough fluids. You can try supplementing chlorphyll or chew gum!

Hi, it can be from the stomach causing the foul smell. Helobacter phylori bacteria. Bad breath not always originates in the mouth. :)

How are tonsil stones formed? Can they be prevented?

As far as I know, there's nothing that can be done to rid them, besides removing your tonsils. If you have them, a flashlight and Q-tip is your friend. :(. Lol

impacted Wisdom teeth can also cause this.... But I've also experienced when eating VERY low carb without a good amount of veggi's and water. I do supplement with Chlorphyll and haven't had any problems since.

Obviously it is not due to your teeth. It may be due to high protein diet or some digestion problem.Use lemon juice for freshness of your mouth breath.Drink more water,it is also effective for this.

Thanks for the tips. Turns out that the problem went away by seriously cutting down the consumption of sauerkraut :D
