Back Pumps... is there a fix?

So I have been getting real intense back pumps the past few weeks. I drink plenty of water and keep sodium down. Is there something to aid in getting rid of the pumps it is starting to effect my training. I can't even get on the eliptical for 5 minutes without getting a pump in my lower back.

sure haven't I seen that taurine worked on a different site but this gives me a little more confirmation that it might be worth a try? have you used it for back pumps?
I haven't ran a PH cycle since 2008 Halodrol. Kids, health scares, etc. However, I do remember having bad back pumps either with HD, or SD and 5g taurine daily helped. I'm sure you can search it and find many posts about people using it.

Never been able to totally get rid of them but definitely taurine and potassium like others stated. Try upping water intake also.

Agreed with the suggestions for taurine and potassium. Creatine can also be beneficial for muscle cramps and back pumps too. I would recommend adding in a hefty dose of taurine, but also check out a daily staple supplement like Powermax XT. Powermax XT contains a great profile of daily ingredients, and it also includes taurine, creatine, and potassium

Taurine will help. As John mentioned, PowerMax XT contains an electrolyte blend that could help alleviate back pumps. In addition it is a complete ergogenic aid to help with recovery, performance, and body composition.

What is your pre workout meal? Try to eat foods rich in potassium, bananas and sweet potatoes come to mind. Also, make sure you are drinking enough water while you are training.

thanx fellas... I just ordered some taurine and I have been eating bananas just usually not pre workout... usually chicken sweet potatoes or tuna on whole wheat bread with an apple is usually my preworkout meal and usually get a gallon of water a day but since the pumps have been getting in around a gallon and half of water...

Maybe add some Pedialyte to your water intra workout. It will help with electrolyte balance as well.

Ant brings up a good point above about electrolytes in water.

I can say from a tradeshow I was just at, you will see a ton of high PH plus electrolyte water coming out. Similar to Pedialyte, just in new concepts. One of the companies is in Mark Wahlbergs line, and I figured it was garbage. Honestly, I felt extra hydrated and really good lol. He was there, maybe I was just star struck lol.

thanx yall I'm going to check into the electrolytes until the taurine gets here I am really hoping the taurine works...

Hey fellas update on the pumps... dosed taurine at 2g in the am then dosed it at 4g preworkout and the pumps are some much better I can actually handle them without having to sit.... thanx for the help fellas... I may dose it a little higher today but I have a feeling I may keep a slight pump feeling...

Taurine is 100% the solution... you may even need to mega-dose though depending on how bad they get. I've done 5g pre, 5 intra, and 5 post on a few occasions to control the back/calf pumps. Fortuantely SNS has it super cheap so its not a bank-breaker to have to use it like this.

Have had the same problem with my lower back as stated above taurine I started at 2g then upped to 3g then 4g and at 4g of taurine 20 mins pre workout did help. Buttt I also would stretched first before any training, then I would do cardio then I would foam roll my back, glutes, and hams. Did all this pre workout basically 10 mins worth Made a huge difference in my back. I couldn't do any bent over rowing without getting a lower back pump before I even got into the actual workout. Then post workout bananas this is what I did to help my lower back pump as well of course of consuming minimal gallon of water daily. Hope this helps let us know!

Eat a banana mid day like other people suggested. Also if not getting better try drinking more water, taurine helped me a lot

Was you able to get them completely gone? If I take creatine I get crazy low back pumps.
