I typically follow the simple protocol of carbs+protein meals early in the day, then fats+protein meals late in the day. So I am usually having a shake with a couple of spoons of fish oil as my last meal, which helps to slow its absorption. I think its a great thing in the evening provided you haven't indulged otherwise, just make sure to have a clean protein source with it for a late night snack.
sure, avocado is fine anytime of the day. its included in the majority of my meals (its awesome on brocolli, spinach, and green beans!). all my meals are pretty well balanced as i dont follow eating different macronutrient ratios at certain times of the day. still, monounsaturated fats play an important role in any diet.
