Author, I have a question (slightly off-topic)

USA HOCKEY
in Chemical Muscle Enhancement, you designate "liver damage" as the greatest danger posed by Anabolic Steroids.

Could you possibly explain why you feel this way instead of the negative cardiovascular effects (lipids, etc.)?

please be as brief or extensive as you like. I am just curious why you feel this way. Is it because: simply, liver damage (once it reaches its threshold) is irreversible?

Thank you sir
Respectfully,

First off, I just want to say that aside from the loss of libido, Max LMG is a great product. Tomorrow will be my 6th week on Max LMG and I was wondering if there is a huge difference in terms of gains from running a 6 or 8 week cycle? From about the 3rd and a half week up until week 5 my gains have pretty much stopped, but then again this is understandable because I am using MAX to cut. In week 5 when I started taking Ultra, my strength slightly increased, and I did gain a couple of pounds. By the way, in these six weeks I have gone from a little over 21% bf to 16% bf. In this time, I have also gained 8 pounds in bodyweight. I have been doing cardio 5-6 times per week for 23-28 minutes per session. The only reason I would want to stop this cycle after six weeks is, you guessed it, loss of libido!lol.

On the topic of liver damage vs. cardiovascular dangers of orals...

what about the kidneys man? no one ever thinks of them... just got BW back and my BUN was 37! Orals **** up your kidneys no doubt..

BUN is usually affected by protein intake i believe

sorry dude, I just didn't want to create a new thread for my question.
I'm just trying to be funny, but your post is worthy of a thread of its own.

For kidney damage, I'd look to things such as ECA, NSAIDS, etc first before blaming AAS. If you take something that is damaging to your kidneys, and develope a moderate case of renal failure, you WILL see decline in renal health as a result of high protein intake. (HOWEVER, high protein intake is completely fine for healthy individuals and has no effect on healthy kidneys.) And, I've even read studies where patients experiencing renal failure were being administered (undefined) AAS for treatment.

For kidneys, don't look "first" at AAS.

And, bump for Deo and his question! (Especially since ALR considers liver to be #1 danger for BBers, yet most deaths I see are via renal failure and heart attacks)

BTW, what else are you / or do you normally supp with?

(sorry about the O/T Deo :D)

Only a minute befroe I need to run now so please be patient with me.

1) As a whole liver issues from toxic substances can negatively affect every other blood indicator in one way or another including BUN. One of the errors I see when reading blood work "durring" androgen use is that BUN can elevate as a result of increased nitrogenic activity both hepatic and renal (they are proteinacious tissues as well and therefore active sites for binding of androgens. (BUN can also be negatively affected by poor quality creatine but that is way to long of a subject for this time frame)

2) Liver enzyme alterations and toxicity issues negatively affect lipid profiles and as such are the likely cause of most potential cardiovascular concerns.

In short the liver is the portal to the body and as such liver health effects every aspect of an athletes performance potential.

Not ignoring you on this lads. It is a great group of topics. Just had a few minutes to stop in and had to run before getting to this on. I Fly out in the AM before the sun but will try to get back on "if" I can do wireless at the airport.
