Has anyone here tried Astragin (Invalid Link Removed) or a supplement containing it such as Astravar 2.0 to amplify the effects of creatine monohydrate? It seems Astragin has two of the three core ingredients used in a study that Ergolog wrote up which demonstrated that combining Astragalus with Ginseng enhanced the effects of creatine (Invalid Link Removed).
I did some searching and found several threads about the individual products mentioned above but nothing specifically about using Astragin alongside creatine.
Astragin at the recommended dosage is a 100mg prop blend of "highly fractionated Astragalus membranaceu and Panax Notoginseng" whereas the test subjects in the study cited on Ergolog consumed "750 mg Astragalus membranaceus, 450 mg Panax ginseng and 300 mg Panax quinquefolius daily". What's unclear to me is if there is some difference in the extracts used in Astragin that would make the equally effective at a lower dose, or if one would need to take 15 caps of Astragin/day to achieve the same result (and that's assuming the ratio of astragalus to ginseng is comparable to the one used in the study).
Regardless it's interesting stuff. I may just go ahead and order Astravar or something similar to see if I notice any difference versus running just creatine by itself.
