pull the plunger back until u get bubbles in the syringe. or in some cases blood in the syringe...then u will need to pull out, change the needle, and pin again
 
Not far. Like nos said, you'll see a few bubbles go into the syringe. Once you stop pulling, the presure will draw the bubbles right back in and you're good to go. If you aspirate and blood comes in, pull the pin out and find a new spot, you don't want to inject into a vein.
