Ashwagandha?

500mg with 10% withanolides

Always had a problem with anxiety & stress over the years. It has eased off with age but still has its moments. Im sure alot of us have something of the same?

A was skeptical with it as i am with loads of supplements nowadays but after about a week i actually think its a very good supplement. Its not made me crack well out my shell but i had a whole host of my friends family over for xmas and usually i can feel quite anxious but i noticed it was lessened this time? Cant say 100% the Ashwaganda but i just can only pair it to the extra relaxed confidence this year.

Im against medications for these types of problems. I have a friend who is prescribed medication for anxiety and she is borderline zombie'd on them but cant function now due to her need of the medication. Just wanted to try a more natural route and this seems a good supplement.

Thought i would share this as i suspect alot of us suffer with the same problem? Nothing to feel down or embaressed about. I aint anyway but to have something that can improve your quality of life then i see no harm

Also.. Remember and source a good Ashwaganda extract with some good feedback.

Thanks ;)

Ive recently started using some also, but I have a question:am I supposed to cycle it? Like maybe a month askwagnda then switch to American ginseng or st johns wort for next month and keep cycling them in and out like that or do I just stay on it? Oh ive been using premium powders ashwagandha and getting it from mr supps. N e input on how to properly dose would be greatly appreciated b/c as of today I've weened myself off my prozac and I seem to feel fine today so I guess my weaning job was done correctly, I hope so.

Weaned off? Thats awesome bro ? Your body will thank you in the long run..

Dosage wise.. Really anything above 500mg i would say? I personally do 500mg 3 times a day.

I dont think it needs to be cycled? It might bw good to take breaks from time to time though.? I wasn't overly keen on St Johns Wort.

You notice anything from your dose today?

Well I just started the ashwagandha back today and have been on American ginseng but today's dose, man I'd have to say it went great because beside quitting the prozac I started a completely fasted cardio while dropping bcaa to only post w/o, among other changes to my routine that'd probably throw my mental status for a boggled flip so I'd say it's working great, I seem to find it does great, like it works on da slick or something, has no harsh type effects, it just kinda works. Hope that kinda helps, I believe I make things more complicated when I type them. So 2 !!!

How do you dose yours? I'm experimenting with either 300mg ksm-66 1x morning 1x night and 2x night to see which is better for me.

I've experimented with up to 5 g at 4% withanolides at points when cutting to lower bf and coaching at the same time. Sometimes it would seem to make the difference between me relaxing in the evening and sitting up all night fretting over painting the field until 9 pm the next day. I would say ash is the most useful supp for people experiencing anxiety. I have recently been experimenting with 1500 mg pre. The verdict is still out on that one.

I found that if I take one serving (300mg ksm-66) before bed, I have a hard time falling asleep. therefore I take one dose in the morning and another one in the afternoon or before workout.

Im currently doing 1500 mg with a 10% Withanolides per day.

Its not a miracle supp but it defo has an effect. If like me you suffer anxiety then its worth adding it in. If you can (Not the case for everyone) dont go down the prescribed medication route. Ive seen far too many people becoming highly addicted to these. The natural route is far safer in my opinion. I have been offered prescription drugs so easily to and i refused them and so glad i did.

Lowers cortisol levels also (Study) so should help with the stubborn fat areas in the long run. Won't be a huge improvement but every little helps.

I dont take any supplements later at night. I stop about 6 oclock and that includes caffeine also ie coffee's. My sleep is perfect these days

I've noticed some efficacy with my anxiety and sleep problems with ksm-66. But I've found the best supplement for me was full spectrum CBD capsules. I go all day without anxiety now. sleep is still hit or miss but usually I feel more refreshed in the morning if I've dosed that day but at least their is relief during the day.

This is the brand I have been using as well. I have dosed one 3 x a day and 3 midday. Both seem to work pretty well and have had good effects from it.

Is it standardized according to HPLC or UV/titration/etc? Assuming HPLC standardization (other methods will give you an overly-high reading, meaning you’re getting less than you think), 600mg/day at 5% withanolides, or 30mg/day withanolides, is a dose supported by numerous studies showing numerous benefits. Higher doses have been used safety, as have lower doses, but I’d say the above dose is a solid starting point, and should give you a good basis for seeing how it treats you. You could split the dose, or take it all at once, depending on if it makes you feel a little too relaxed/tired taking it all at once. I take it all in the evening/night. Studies have used daily dosing for at least 8-12 weeks, probably more, but you can take a few weeks off of it every 8-12 weeks if you want.

Use 600mg of KSM-66 5% withanolides every day after lunch.
It always worked. I notice a difference compared to when I do not take it.
And it is precisely that state of anxiety that takes you away, which makes the difference, more alert.

Who knows if taken together with something else amplifies its already known effects.

Ashwagandha would be a great option for someone needing a little boost and it also provides a host of other benefits.

If healthy people take 3-5 ashwagandha capsules every day, their muscle strength and lean body mass increase and their fat percentage decreases. In addition, taking this herb, which is used in the ayurveda tradition, reduces the chance of cardiovascular disease. Researchers at the ICMR Advanced Centre for Reverse Pharmacology in Traditional Medicine discovered this.

If infertile men take three capsules containing Ashwagandha – Latin name Withania somnifera – every day for a couple of months, their testosterone level rises by 17 percent and their sperm cell concentration increases by 167 percent. Doctors at Mahalaxmi Clinic in Mumbai, India write about it in Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

This study reports that ashwagandha supplementation is associated with significant increases in muscle mass and strength and suggests that ashwagandha supplementation may be useful in conjunction with a resistance training program.

Withania somnifera may therefore be useful for generalized weakness and to improve speed and lower limb muscular strength and neuro-muscular co-ordination. Terminalia arjuna may prove useful to improve cardio-vascular endurance and lowering systolic blood pressure. Both drugs appear to be safe for young adults when given for mentioned dosage and duration.

Ashwagandha improved the cardiorespiratory endurance of the elite athletes.

The percentage of fat declined in both groups, but the ashwagandha users lost more than the members of the placebo group. The researchers used the bioelectrical impedance method to measure the fat percentage. [We have our doubts about the reliability of this method, as we also do about the method the researchers used to measure muscle mass.]

The treatment group that was given the high-concentration full-spectrum Ashwagandha root extract exhibited a significant reduction (P<0.0001) in scores on all the stress-assessment scales on Day 60, relative to the placebo group. The serum cortisol levels were substantially reduced (P=0.0006) in the Ashwagandha group, relative to the placebo group. The adverse effects were mild in nature and were comparable in both the groups. No serious adverse events were reported.

The results seen here are likely due to a variety of effects of ashwagandha, but its adaptogenic properties probably played a major role in its ability to increase speed and strength. Ashwagandha has many beneficial effects that make it worthwhile for athletes to supplement with, and the direct ergogenic benefits shown here make it an even more valuble addition to the supplement plan of any athlete

There is a reason why companies are putting this in their supplements (AlphaMax XT and M-Test). And you have the option of adding it into your stack for a very cheap price. Look for the Jarrow brand Ashwagandha. Again, it will not boost your testosterone levels to abnormal heights, but it will aid in boosting your levels, aid in improving performance, and reduce stress/cortisol levels.
