Article: You Need A Workout Buddy

I've lifted solo for nearly 15 years. Having a lifting partner was always a burden, they would show up late, wanna talk the entire time, what should have been a 45 minute session would take 2 hours. Never again! If I can't lift something at the gym without assistance or a spotter, I'm not lifting it.

I guess Im lucky I got a partner (my Neighbor) been going strong for 6 months together. He benches 315 and I can bearly muster 225 but I think he likes the extra rest between sets. Anyways it wors for us

Workout buddies are absolutely not necessary.

The only time it would be nice is if both people had the exact same goals and similar strength levels.... This rarely happens.

I know enough people at my gym that i can always get a spot or have someone to talk to between sets if i get board. Haha.

Solo for me. Buddy's chat too much, text on their phones, and don't push hard enough. No, I'll lift alone thanks. If I can't get another rep on my own, I rest pause! No buddy needed!
