Article: What Not To Eat Postworkout

Ok that's what most people know not to eat. What would you suggest to consume then?

I for some reason forgot about fat slowing digestion and how that should be a reason to avoid high fat foods PWO. Whoops, lol! Good thing I read this even though it's fairly obvious. To plugaman, I would say that some of his points are kinda off, for instance sugary foods are actually not bad to eat PWO unless you have some really bad insulin resistance, or unless you literally down like 100g in straight sugar items. A balance of simple and complex sugars is probably good, for instance a bowl of oatmeal prepared in skim milk (oats contain complex carbs, milk has simple sugar lactose), plus your choice of lean meat (I eat 96% ground beef always post workout). Honestly, eating a salmon is not a terrible choice either even though it has 12g of fat per ~7oz - I think anything under like 20g of fat is probably ok PWO.

not so sure about chocolate milk, there is actually a study that suggest that low fat chocolate milk can be as good as commercial recovery drinks w w w .ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22080318

He actually talked about milk chocolate, which is pretty different from chocolate milk. Regardless, I would take what he said in the sugar section of the article with a grain of salt - you will be ok eating sugary foods immediately PWO without harm to your body (no guarantees on not getting diabates 30 years later, though =p )
