I will usually always go with the skinny squat guru.

Going with the guy because he lifts more is unequivocally stupid.

Ad hominem works the same in fitness.
 
I agree, any idiot can work out for years and get big and strong, doesn't mean he's doing it right.

Specific adaptations to imposed demand, squat wrong for years, you are going to adapt, and get stronger while your imbalance gets greater.

Looking at some one who if big and strong and thinking they know what they are doing is ignorant.

I don't think your "specific adaptations" argument is taking into consideration the consequence of improper form.

From my experience: Squat wrong for years and you don't make proper gains and you destroy your body and your ability to squat at all. And that alone stops most people from taking their advice anyway.
