Article: What Cardio Should You Do?

Do the Blane Morton articles come from the Onion?

If you insist on doing cardio upon waking up, then I do recommend doing HIT cardio. The reason for doing HIT instead of steady-state at this time of the day is for a few reasons. First, you’ve just fasted for 6-8 hours depending on how long you sleep. By the time you wake up and begin your workout and sit back down to eat breakfast it could be anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes after you’ve already been awake – that’s catabolic.

Is'nt HIIT on an empty stomach univerally considered to be catabaolic....

Cardio I catabolic when your doing any type of cardio your goal is primarily to break fat down and materialize it as energy. Catabolism isn't bad , catabolic activity signals anabolic behaviors in the body through negative feedback. Everyone is always trying to be anti-catabolic an in an "anabolic" state all the time ... From a scientific stand point in how the body builds muscle and burns fat it makes no sense . So I wouldn't worry to much about it being catabolic
