Article: Weightlifting In Jail

Excellent piece-I've had 3 friends do time-all came out in much better shape, both mentally and physically-of course these weren't long stretches, no one did more then 5, but finally getting caught and doing the time made them realize that they didn't want to go back.

Nonetheless, I have all the motivation I need on the outs.

Awesome piece bro , you can base an entire script on this , i really see an oscar wining movie here!

Yea I imagine the yard is one of the best places to prove yourself and get respect. At the same time jealousy of others might also attract some of the wrong attention. What a tough life. And just to think that possession of AAS can land you in prison is a scary thought

Great article, I'm a CO that works at county and we have nothing but a basketball hoop for the inmates. I've always been impressed with how creative the inmate's are with their workouts but for liability reasons I have to stop them from hand stands and using table and chairs. I wish we had the funds for simple equipment but reality is that someone will ruin it for everyone, I've seen someone kill themselves with toilet paper so I'd just prefer everyone just watched tv seated.

Love this article for the innovation and sense of achievement. Correlates with a lot of high school kids that I teach in shop class that have yet to be successful at something in life.

They took weights out of california prison system at least ten years ago. They were tired of releasing super ctiminals all jacked up. Nothing but bar workouts. Pullups, dips, pushups. Only way your gonna get weight is by making water bags.

Definitely interesting article. Some prisons around here dont even have weights. I hear lots of stories of gravity manipulation and beasts walking around still.
